SOE Wendy Link Highlights Abacoa Meeting

Appointed by Governor DeSantis to replace former SOE Susan Bucher who he removed from office after the embarrassing spectacle that was the 2018 election in PBC, Wendy Sartory Link is a breath of fresh air.

Having never held elective office, nor planning to run for the job permanently, Wendy comes from a successful career in business and civic leadership, and is interested in solving problems. And problems are what she faces at the SOE.

In her 6 year tenure, Susan Bucher so politicized the office, that Democrat poll workers in south county have quit en masse, telling Wendy that they are “loyal to Susan Bucher, not you.” Unfortunately, many of the remaining management in the organization may also be loyal to her predecessor, a real impediment to change. The morale in the organization was poor when Wendy took over, and staff did not trust each other and in some cases felt that advantage could only come at others expense. After the 2018 recount circus, the reputation of the organization is on a par with the days of the butterfly ballot, and Wendy has inherited outdated and failing equipment, a voter registration system incompatible with the rest of the state and dependent on a single questionable vendor, and a mandate to roll out new technology in time for the Presidential Primary in March 2020.

In her short time in office, Wendy has successfully lobbied the county for more money for the equipment rollout, started the move to a new registration system, and completed a successful March Municipal election with a suspect staff and essentially no experience of her own in running elections. A very good start indeed.

Unfortunately, the demographics of the county being what they are, the 2020 election will likely bring us back a Susan Bucher clone (if not Susan herself). We can only hope that Wendy can transform the office sufficiently in 2 years to not only run a fair and open 2020 election, but implement the processes, procedures and staffing to keep it professional and impartial for many years to come in spite of what her successor brings to the job.

Part of insuring open and fair elections is the makeup of the pollworker workforce. About 1000 new workers are needed for next year, so if you ever thought about working the polls, now is the time to step up. You can apply for the job at the SOE website

The second speaker of the evening was pundit Loren Spivack. Using his quirky humor to good effect, he attacked Progressives on the fault lines of their inconsistencies.

Why do they oppose a border wall, he asks. With their unshakeable faith in the death and destruction being caused by carbon emissions, why would you want to import people from third world countries where their carbon footprint is tiny, to an industrial country where they would spew carbon prodigously? Why it could even shorten the 12 year outlook to the end of days!

He deftly explained how socialism is about control, not ideology, and pointed out the the only war in which we have engaged that had no anti-war movement was World War II. The reason? We were on the same side as Stalin, one of their “good guys”.

He also touched on how Sweden has moved from a bulwark of feminism to a society where rapes are many and increasing. When surveys suggest that it is the recent immigrant population from cultures where respect for women is lacking, their response was to stop doing the surveys. (Note – that may be changing. See: “Sweden to Release First Report on Migration and Crime since 2005”.)

Other examples include Progressives support for trans-genders competing in women’s sports (throwing women under the bus) and their recent support for anti-semitism (eg Ilhan Omar), doing the same to Jews.

Perhaps his best line of the night sums up socialism nicely: “Many mice die in mouse traps because they don’t understand why the cheese is free.

Loren is the author of several humorous books on the subject, including “The Wizard of Iz“, “The New Democrat“, and “The Gorax“.

Rally Reveals anti-Rubio Backlash

On Monday, March 18, a good-sized crowd of Trump supporters rallied in front of Marco Rubio’s office on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. There was a general consensus among those present that “Little Marco” chose to spit in President Trump’s face rather than support his actions on the obvious emergency on the southern border.

Judging by the active support of motorists passing by (thumbs up, honking), many people share our concern that we have a Florida Senator that is a fake Republican. Our other Senator, Rick Scott, stood with the President along with 40 others.

It is curious that “Little Marco” would take this vote given certainty of a sustained veto. He needlessly antagonized the President’s supporters, and will probably feel the consequences in lack of support for his re-election fundraising. A lot of people have “unsubscribed” from his fund-raising emails – you may decide to do the same.

Send him an email and let him know what you think of his actions at his website. You can also call his Washington office at (202) 224-3041.

Here is a sampling of the patriots that supported the rally:

Sebastian Gorka at Trump Club 45

On Monday night I had I attended the Trump 45 Club meeting at the Kennel Club to hear Dr. Sebastian Gorka speak. By the time I arrived the place was jammed packed (ed: estimated at more than 1300). I inconspicuously made my way down to the floor, snuggled up against the closest column and enjoyed the show. Dr. Gorka was dynamic and engaging and the audience was excited to be there with him. Dr. Gorka spoke of his life, his new book, “Why We Fight” Russiagate, the economy, the time spent in the White House and some Q&A. There were selfies to be had and hundreds of books were signed. For me, I was just happy to be a part of it all.

May Golan Highlights December Meeting at Abacoa

Our December meeting in Abacoa covered two topics.

First, Kirk Wolak gave us an update on the dangers of voter fraud, right here in Palm Beach County. A participant in the lawsuit against Brenda Snipes following a previous election, he reported on the difficulty in holding election officials accountable for malfeasance and/or incompetence. The left is invested in convincing all of us that voter fraud does not exist (while they are perpetrating it), so the answer from the SOE is always “nothing to see here”. Those in a position to do something about it (the Governor, RPOF, etc.) don’t ever seem to have the will to take it on. Kirk’s answer for now is for more people to become poll watchers or poll workers to bring as much sunshine to the process as possible.

Next up was Israeli activist and Knesset candidate May Golan. May became politically active about 10 years ago when she perceived a train wreck coming – illegal immigration was changing the nature of her country, bringing terror, crime and political unrest. This was particularly true in her hometown of South Tel Aviv, one of the more dangerous parts of Israel. By some analysis, in 10 years Israel may cease to be a majority Jewish country.

While the current Netanyahu government is very much aware of the problem, they are hamstrung by a “radical left fascist media”, and a bureacracy wedded to the status quo. About 8 out of 10 of the new NGOs formed (non-government organizations) each year are pro illegal immigration and funded by outsiders like George Soros.

May’s tools to fight back include cultivating a media presence, making and distributing videos and a large social media presence. She founded “Hebrew City NGO” to focus resources on the problem, and she doesn’t pull any punches. “We don’t want to bribe these people,” she says, “we want to put them on a plane back to wherever they came from.”.

Many of us who see the threat posed by uncontrolled migration to the US and Europe perhaps were not aware of a similar problem in Israel, which has the reputation of toughness against terrorism and positive control of their border. Overstaying work or tourist visas by economic migrants from the Arab countries and Africa can have the same end result though, as a caravan crashing through a national border.

In her bid for a seat in the Knesset, May needs about $50,000. If you would like to help her with this goal, please see below. Her flyer describes her candidacy as:

May’s stand on the unity of Jerusalem, Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount, Israeli sovereignty in “Area C” of Judea and Samaria, strengthening the Jewish and Zionist character of the State of Israel, and insuring the development of the Galil and the Negev for future generations are unapologetic and inspiring. She has for years advocated for and been an example of the political and social empowerment of young women. She is a strong leader and we need strong leadership.

To donate to May’s campaign, make checks payable to “MAY GOLAN PRIMARY CAMPAIGN”, S’derot Sheshet HaYamim 16, Tel Aviv 6753508.

If you have a PayPal account, you may contribute by sending money to: MG1YYC@gmail.com

The maximum donation under Israeli law is $2700 and donations are not tax-exempt in the US. All donations as required by law are filed with the Israeli Knesset Ethics Committee, confidentially. You will be contacted to assist in providing current address and identification information.

There will be no January meeting in deference to the New Year holiday.

Future Speaker Jim Jordan Visits PBCTP and Trump Club 45 PBC

On Monday October 8, Ohio Representative Jim Jordan spoke at a combined meeting between the PBC Tea Party and Trump Club 45 PBC. Held at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, 1200 enthusiastic fans showed up to cheer on a possible Speaker of the House. Jordan, one of the founders of the Freedom Caucus, has been a key leader in standing up for conservative principles in the Congress and the Trump agenda. Assuming the House does not end up in Democrat hands (Speaker Pelosi AGAIN!), Jim would have a lot of grassroots support from tea parties, FreedomWorks, Heritage Action, and others, to challenge establishment candidate Kevin McCarthy of California for the Speakers gavel.

In his remarks, Jim outlined some of the players in the Russian Witch Hunt that have payed a price. He has been relentless in calling for transparency for the DOJ documents that lay out the extent of the conspiracy, and is particularly interested in seeing Rod Rosenstein (Deputy AG) sit before a Congressional Committee to talk about his role in the “insurance policy” against Trump.

Some of the leaders of the two clubs were able to discuss many topics with the Congressman at a pre-meeting dinner at the Embassy Suites, along with two other speakers at the event – Fox News contributor Dr. Gina Loudon and FreedomWorks Senior Fellow C.L. Bryant. While it is not assured, there was a lot of optimism in the room for keeping the House majority.

The Ethical Lapses of Andrew Gillum

The following is excerpted from the Sunshine State News:

Now that Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is the Democratic Party nominee for governor, the press and voters need to take a much closer look into his service as our ceremonial mayor.

Gillum has been consistently involved in issues that the FBI is investigating as part of their work into corruption at City Hall and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).

While Gillum alleges he was told by the FBI that he’s not a subject of their investigation, no one has ever corroborated that statement.

First and foremost is the ethical concerns around the New York City trip that Gillum took for his former employer. We now know, after persistent questioning by the Tallahassee Democrat, that Gillum stayed on after that meeting, relocating to a plush NYC hotel, the Millennium Hilton, attending the “Hamilton” Broadway play where tickets cost hundreds of dollars, and even going on a boat ride around Manhattan and the Statute of Liberty with Adam Corey and Mike Miller, where pictures were taken.

Gillum has recently told The Washington Post that sometimes his brother Marcus Gillum pays some of his expenses, and he has said that his brother paid his expenses in NYC.

A Reason for Optimism – John Michael Chambers

Over the years, we have been warned about the Globalist Conspiracies that threaten to reduce our country to one more cog in a dreary machine controlled by multi national elites who profit while the world’s peoples are enslaved. This is nothing new – I remember how my father used to rage against the “Tri-Lateral Commission” during the Carter era. Even though he was a Roosevelt Democrat, he was deeply suspicious of what we would now call “The Deep State”.

Typically, these warnings of impending doom suggest that unless we change our ways and wake up to what is happening, Armageddon will ensue.

Last evening we were treated to something different – an optimistic message that help is on the way.

John Michael Chambers, who describes himself as a strategic wealth coach, is the creator of the Economic Institute for Asset Preservation, and would like to help you manage your money. A Tampa resident, John is back at the PBCTP for a second time, as he makes the rounds of tea parties, Republican and Trump clubs, relating his perceived global threats to our sovereignty and their effect on our personal financial situations.

His optimistic message is that Trump is the existential threat to the global power structure that seeks to control us and HE IS WINNING!

Yes, this Global Cabal exists, controls most of the media (who are beholden to the “Clinton Machine”) and the bureaucracy, seeks one world government and the reduction of global population to less than 1 Billion, has over 10,000 “secret” organizations working within the US alone, and have us under 24×7 surveillance through “post-constitutional” government enabled by the Patriot Act. And yes, they have saddled us with a $20 trillion national debt, $150 trillion in unfunded liabilities, $1.5 trillion in student loan debt – all of which will lead to a “Global Financial Reset” that will replace our current system of government and economic systems.

Not to worry though, because the 2016 election has dealt “them” their first real setback and they have met their match in Donald Trump. Real soon now, expect to see “Nuremberg style” trials of the deep state perpetrators who have fought to de-legitimize the President and maintain their stranglehold on the levers of power. He cites the long list of accomplishments of barely 18 months of the administration – the tax cuts, deregulation, leaving TPP, the Paris Accords and the Iran deal, Judicial appointments, 4.1% economic growth, lowest unemployment in history, the “America First” foreign policy, etc. as proof that the tide has turned. The President has them right where he wants them and it is driving them CRAZY!.

We shall see.

Also at the meeting we heard from Lowell Levine – founder and president of the Stop Bullying Now Foundation, whose mission is to “… raise money for school districts around the country to address and eliminate the ongoing dangerous student bullying problem which is causing death, much mental and physical harm as well as forcing students to drop out of school”. Lowell was a candidate for PBC School Board in 2010 and 2012.

We also heard from several candidates – CD18 incumbent Brian Mast and challenger Dave Cummings and FH86 candidate Laurel Bennett.

2018 GOP Political Jamboree

Every two years, during the summer of an election year, the county GOP hosts a “Jamboree” – an old fashioned political picnic for candidates on the upcoming ballot to introduce themselves to the party activists. With a barbecue lunch under the pavilion roof at the South County Civic Center, surrounded by covered booths hosted by candidates and political clubs, it is gathering place for the GOP faithful and those who seek to represent them at all levels of government.

Upper row from left: Dave Cummings (CD18), Javier Manjarres (CD22), John Joseph Mercadante (Governor), Ashley Moody (Attorney General), Sid Dinerstein (Moderator), Lower row from left: Belinda Keiser (FS25), Matt Spritz (FH89), Mike Caruso (FH89), Scott Singer (Boca Mayor), Al Zucaro (Boca Mayor)

After remarks by county chairman (and RPOF vice-chair) Michael Barnett, and state committee reps Cindy Tindell and Joe Budd, master of Ceremonies Sid Dinerstein introduced the candidates.

The only state-wide candidates present were Attorney General candidate Ashley Moody who listed her impressive resume and endorsements which include current AG Pam Bondi, and John Mercadante – a long-shot candidate for Governor with lots of enthusiasm.

In CD18, incumbent Brian Mast has drawn a couple of primary challengers, mostly as a result of his controversial stance on gun control which is perceived as a vulnerability. Dave Cummings spoke and presented himself as a conservative in support of the Trump agenda. The winner of this primary will face one of two well-funded Democrats in a race that has drawn national interest.

CD22 was represented by candidate Javier Manjarres who is facing Nicholas Kimaz (who was at the event but left before speaking), and Eddison Walters. The winner will face entrenched Democrat Ted Deutch (who has a long shot primary challenger in Jeff Fandl) in this D+14 district.

For state legislative offices, Belinda Keiser spoke. She is competing with current House member Gayle Harrell for the Senate 25 seat vacated by Joe Negron. The winner will face Democrat Robert Levy in the fall.

For House district 89, vacated by term limited Bill Hager, competitors Matt Spritz and Joe Caruso spoke. The winner of that race will face one of two Democrats in November.

At the city level, we had Boca acting mayor Scott Singer and his opponent BocaWatch founder Al Zucaro. Municipal elections are usually in March, but the departure of indicted former Mayor Susan Haynie prompted a special election to be held coincident with the August primary.

This year, the number of candidates was fewer than past years (9 versus 19 in 2016 and 14 in 2014), partly due to a lack of challengers overall, and partly from the absence of Republican candidates that are running. CD18 incumbent Brian Mast and challenger Mark Freeman were absent for example. This year there are NO Republicans running for open seats on the school board, Port Commission, or County Commission districts 2 or 6.
