Congressman Brian Mast is in his third term representing the 18th Congressional District of Florida.

Prior to his election to Congress, Brian followed in his father’s footsteps by serving in the U.S. Army for more than 12 years, earning medals including The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal, and The Defense Meritorious Service Medal. While deployed in Afghanistan, he worked as a bomb disposal expert under the elite Joint Special Operations Command. The last improvised explosive device that he found resulted in catastrophic injuries, which included the loss of both of his legs.

While lying in bed recovering at Walter Reed Medical Center, Brian’s father gave him advice that has stuck with him to this day–to ensure the greatest service he gave to our country and the best example he set for his children was still ahead of him. Brian took this advice to heart and dedicated himself to finding new ways to serve our country and his community.

Brian remained on active duty following the injuries and provided expertise to the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms during his recovery process. After his retirement from the Army, he continued working in counter-terrorism and national defense as an Explosive Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security. Brian subsequently received a degree from Harvard University and volunteered to serve alongside the Israel Defense Forces to show support for the freedom Israel represents throughout the Middle East and the world.

In Congress, Brian strives to serve as he did on the battlefield: without regard for personal gain or personal sacrifice. He is a member of two committees:

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where his priorities include fixing the pressing water quality issues stemming from Lake Okeechobee; and
The Foreign Affairs Committee, where he uses his military expertise to help strengthen the safety and security of the United States
Brian lives in Fort Pierce, Fla. with his wife Brianna and four children: Magnum, Maverick, Madalyn and Major.

Mast and Roth at Stadium Grill

At the June meeting of the PBCTP, District 18 Congressman Brian Mast and District 85 Florida Representative Rick Roth updated a large and boisterous crowd of tea party enthusiasts on their work in their respective chambers.

Being in the minority party when Nancy Pelosi is speaker must be a frustrating experience, as most of what happens goes on with little or no Republican input. If the Republicans stick together though (not a usual occurrence), sometimes it is possible to slow things down. Lately, we are seeing more of a spine from the Congressional GOP, evidenced by Brian Mast’s pushback on the mask mandates on the floor of Congress.

Brian is in his third term, and running for re-election next year. His support of the Trump agenda is well known and gets him high marks from the various scorekeeping groups like Heritage Acton (98%).

His message to us on Monday was “there is hope”, as cracks are appearing in the Democrat caucus.

For example, as the Biden administration gives money to the Palestinian Authority that will likely be buying Hamas Rockets from Iran, the far left in Congress is trying to withhold arms sales to Israel – something that at least some Democrats reject.

As China, North Korea and Russia are behind hacking attacks on our infrastructure, there is bipartisan support for beefing up cybersecurity and going on the attack.

The democrats for the most part stick to their agenda though, and the chairman of every committee that he sits on has the same basic approach to legislation – put it in a framework of organized labor, climate change and social justice – nothing else matters.

On HR1 and the subversion of elections (which passed with zero Republican votes), the only thing holding it back is the preservation of the filibuster – something only a couple of Democrats in the Senate are supporting. Our best defense, in Brian’s view, is state and local action, such as the Florida election bill (SB90) that will protect elections. That and prayer are necessary to make sure 2022 does not result in another stolen election. We all need to back President Trump and Ron DeSantis, and the other leaders who are fighting for us.

Other areas of concern are the proposed budget with $6 trillion for “infrastructure” but zero of border security, and the fact that the Biden pentagon would prefer soldiers that are “woke” rather than aggressive and competent.

This year’s legislative session in Tallahassee should make us all proud. As the Biden Administration and their Progressive minions in Congress go about their business of compromising election integrity, mismanaging the pandemic, socializing the economy, promoting Marxist ideology in the schools and encouraging the muzzling of Conservative expression in Social Media, the state of Florida has said “Stop! Enough!” Many of the bills that were passed and signed into law directly counter the Progressive agenda in DC.

District 85 Representative Rick Roth was in the thick of it this year, and came to the PBCTP this week to highlight what a Republican Legislature and great Governor can do when the times demand it.

Rick ran through a list of the bills that he thinks will have the most impact, and reminded us that (if re-elected next year), he has three years to get a lot more done.

His “top bills” list included:

  • The “anti-riot” act (HB1) – which allows citizens to sue local officials if they defund the police or fail to control rioting in their communities
  • Police reform (HB7051) – that addresses “choke holds” and other practices
  • Election integrity (SB90) – which eliminates ballot harvesting and sets ground rules for Vote-by-Mail
  • Social Media Censorship (HB7013) – protecting candidates and citizens in Florida from arbitrary “canceling” by social media companies
  • School Choice (HB7045) – expanding vouchers to 375% of the poverty line ($100K for a family of 4)
  • Fairness in Women’s Sports (HB51) – limiting women’s sports competition to biological women

He also walked through some of the aspects of the Seminole Compact emerging from the recent special session, such as online sports betting and participation by thrid party venues like the PBC Kennel Club.

Now more than ever, Grassroots has the chance to take back America for working class people! Join us to hear how Grassroots activists like yourself played an integral part in the Brexit movement, which led to Britain’s independence from the centralized power hungry European Union!

About Nigel Farage:

A veteran grassroots campaigner, Nigel Farage was first elected to the European Parliament in 1999, and fought an inspirational battle for decades to take Britain out of the European Union. His staunch nationalism and unapologetic populism made him a darling of the working classes, and a formidable opponent to the comfortably corrupt cronyism of the European Union in Brussels.

His appeal to the forgotten men and women of Britain was instrumental in forcing the Brexit vote in 2016, a vote which saw national pride and the average people triumph over London elitism and globalist fear-mongering. Nigel remained active in British politics to ensure that Brexit means Brexit, which was eventually achieved in January 2020. As America stands facing her own crisis of leadership, Nigel is headed to the heartland of the USA, with a message of hope and courage for these tumultuous times.

About Rev. CL Bryant:

Reverend C.L. Bryant is a dynamic and highly sought after motivator, activist, Gospel preacher, and film producer. He has been a minister for nearly four decades and spent time as a missionary in the Amazon. He has also worked in the financial sector for twenty-five years and is the former NAACP President for the Garland, TX unit. C.L. currently hosts his own radio show and frequently works on other multimedia projects, including FreedomWorks’ video series Real Talk.

Brian Mast and Rick Roth on June 7th

Join us on Monday, June 7 for

Congressman Brian Mast
and
State Representative Rick Roth
NOTE: This meeting will be packed and the overflow audience will be on the first floor. If you would like to ask Congressman Mast or Representative Roth a question, you will need to fill out an index card available at checkin.

In Washington DC, the battle lines are drawn. With a slim majority (currently it is 218-212 with several seats yet to be determined), the Democrats are behaving like the opposition does not exist. They are ramming through their Progressive agenda and sending bills to the Senate that would change our country forever if passed. Only the filibuster stands in their way, and the good graces of Democrats Krysten Sinema and Joe Manchin who have said they will protect it. What can Republicans do to stop this train?

For some thoughts on this and other things, we will have our CD18 Congressman Brian Mast on June 7th at the Stadium Grill.

While our fighters like Brian struggle against Pelosi’s minions in Washington, the state governments are also engaged in putting roadblocks in front of this Progressive caravan. In the current session, we are seeing bills to hold rioters accountable, solidify election integrity, and get our schools open and our economy booming. By the time of this meeting, the session will be over and HD85 Representative Rick Roth will fill us in on what was accomplished. He can also tell us what to expect from the redistricting that will happen before the 2022 elections, which is another function of the Florida Legislature.

FreedomWorks Here on April 5

Join us on Monday, April 5 for

FreedomWorks

Our country is in danger. With the slimmest majority in many years, the Democrats are acting like the opposition does not exist. They passed a $1.9 Trillion (with a “T”) “Covid Rescue” package that bails out the blue states, funds an outrageous progressive wish list, and has very little to do with Covid. They are planning to ram “HR-1” down our throats that will federalize elections and institutionalize voter fraud nationwide. They have opened the borders and Covid infected migrants are pouring across, being put up in hotels on the taxpayer dime, and flown or bussed to every corner of the country.

What can we do about all this? The Tea Party came together in 2009 to fight the outrages of the Obama Administration, but this is so much worse. Do we have it in us to rise up and do it all again?

For some thoughts on this, please join us for a session with FreedomWorks on April 5.

One of our speakers will be Laura Zorc.

To FreedomWorks, Laura Zorc brings years of experience and expertise in the subject of education reform and an unparalleled devotion for putting power back in the hands of parents and families.
