Mr. John L. Casey is a formerWhite House space program advisor, consultant to NASA Headquarters,
and senior field engineer on the Space Shuttle program. He is the President of the Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC) in Orlando, Florida, and is one of America’s most successful climate change researchers and climate prediction experts. Mr. Casey is the leading advocate in the US for a national and international plan to prepare for the next climate change to one of a dangerous cold climate era. This new cold era is caused by a historic decline in the Sun’s energy output, what he calls a “solar hibernation.” In the spring of 2007, he became the first researcher to announce this dramatic change in the Sun to theWhite House and the mainstream media. He is the Editor of the Global Climate Status Report and the founder of the Global Cooling Awareness Project. He has been independently verified to have one of if not the best track records for climate prediction of any climate researcher, according to public on line records. His single, though seminal peer reviewed research paper on climate change, the “Relational Cycle Theory,” has shown it is one of the most reliable climate prediction theories available.

He is the author of the internationally acclaimed climate science books, “Cold Sun” and “Dark Winter,” which describe the rationale for understanding why global warming has ended and that a new cold epoch has begun. Through his years in climate research he has been outspoken in saying that the Sun is the primary driver for climate change. Because of the respect he had earned in his climate research, in September 2011 he was asked by a group of the world’s best geologists in earthquake prediction to bring them together in a new company to help save thousands of lives each year by predicting the most dangerous earthquakes in advance, a never before achieved objective. In February 2012, the International Earthquake and Volcano Prediction Center (IEVPC) was formed withMr. Casey as the Chairman/CEO. The IEVPC is now engaged in a long term test program aimed in part at demonstrating that major earthquakes can now be predicted with far greater accuracy than previously thought.

Mr. Casey has also been an Army computer and missile systems officer, high tech company executive,
chairman of a humanitarian organization providing aid to women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan, and founder of an environmental organization performing waterway monitoring in Florida. He holds a B.S.in Physics and Mathematics (JSU- 1971) and anM.A. in Management (Webster Univ. 1981).

Saul Alinsky (1909 – 1972) was a liberal community organizer in Chicago who developed a method of local organizing that was widely copied by Democrats, and influenced Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. He is credited with coining the term “community organizer.” His most well-known accomplishment was the book Rules for Radicals. He wanted reform inside the system by pressuring government officials to take into account the needs and wants of neighborhood residents. He was opposed by far-left radicals who wanted to destroy capitalism and who feared that Alinsky was strengthening it by resolving the issues most important to the poor.

He was awarded a doctorate in archaeology from the University of Chicago and was awarded a fellowship in sociology, which he never completed. He was nicknamed “The Red” for his radicalism –his book was dedicated tongue-in-cheek to Lucifer, the first radical. [1]

Alinsky’s approach to community organizing stressed “self interest as the generating reality of life.” This view arose from his experiences in the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) as an organizer in the style of labor union leaders Samuel Gompers and John L. Lewis. Alinsky produced notable results like the Back of the Yard and the Woodlawn organizations in Chicago. Alinsky and his Industrial Areas Foundation utilized confrontational tactics and dramatic protests to help members gain bargaining status and a larger share of the local pie. He disavowed with increasing vigor any national issue strategy or ideological outlook. The weakness of his emphasis on the organizer as a tactician only and the granting of control to those organized was that racist goals could be chosen by the membership as a whole.

Lauren Cooley – an alternative to liberal indoctrination on campus

Colleges and Universities today are overwhelmingly liberal. They indoctrinate their students and punish conservative thought. They have been like this for many years and we all know it. The old saying that “everyone is a liberal until they start working and paying taxes” is partly because of this academic conditioning, and refusing to be suppressed by it takes courage and determination.

Our speaker at the Boca and Wellington chapter meetings this month, Lauren Cooley, refused to drink the Kool Aid. Now 22, she became an activist while attending Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. As a campus leader of Furman’s Conservative Students for a Better Tomorrow (CSBT), she became nationally known for pointing out the hypocrisy of a school that would deny student credit for a lecture by Anne Coulter (which she organized), but provide it for race baiter and shake-down artist Jesse Jackson (who was lauded as a “historical figure”). At the Jackson event, she distributed a pamphlet listing many of Jackson’s actual quotes that led to a battle with the administration. Attacked by the student paper and her professors, she involved the media in a project to illustrate the curious “qualifications” of those speakers for which credit was granted and for those where it was not, and filed a Title 9 complaint alleging harassment.

Now working as a Florida field coordinator for Chicago based Turning Point USA, she maintains a presence on campus at many South Florida schools, engaging the students to consider conservative points of view. Beginning the conversation with “Big Government Sucks”, or talking about “generational theft”, she presents an alternative to the insidious bias experienced in the classrooms. The organization also distributes a pamphlet to recent high school graduates that gives them a “heads up” as to the political conditioning they can expect when they arrive on campus.

If you would like to learn more about Lauren and her work, you can visit the Turning Point USA website. A 501(c)(3), donations are tax deductible. She also asks that if you know of young people of a conservative bent that would be willing to participate in her campus outreach, to hook them up. Lauren is on twitter @laurenacooley and facebook and can be reached by email at lauren@turningpointusa.net.

The meeting was held in a new location – the conference room at the recently completed Bethesda Hospital West. Besides use of the room, the hospital graciously provided light refreshments, and a health oriented “goodie bag” for all participants, and their hospitality was well received.

K. Carl Smith Brings Outreach Method to the PBCTP Chapters

“I am a Frederick Douglass Republican” – thus begins K. Carl Smith’s method for penetrating the walls that separate conservatives from minority voters.

On the premise that many minority families hold conservative values (eg. school choice, life, self reliance) and have much in common with us, yet are conditioned by upbringing and / or liberal propaganda to reject conservative thought, Mr. Smith explained how for many, “Republican”, or “Conservative” means “Racist”. Starting from that perspective, it is no wonder that “outreach” efforts are difficult.

In order to “retake control of the narrative” with Black and Hispanic constituencies from the liberal media and the Democrat party, we must expose their ongoing practice of rewriting history and routine accusations of racism against any who oppose them. Example: Lincoln (a Republican) ended slavery, and was opposed by the Democrats who were invested in it, yet the DNC website claims that “Democrats have been the champion of civil rights for 200 years!”

Frederick Douglass, a Black contemporary of Lincoln, has said “The best representation of slavery in politics is the Democrat Party”. He was a strong supporter of the Constitution, life, the limited power of government, and personal responsibility. By identifying with Douglass, in K. Carl Smith’s view, we can begin to explain that conservative principles are color blind, and knock down the wall that limits dialogue.

Mr. Smith holds seminars on his methods, and has helped local GOP groups do effective outreach, and his lectures at the three PBCTP chapters this month were well received. K. Carl Smith and the Frederick Douglass Republicans – Turning Values into Votes

Please join us in January as all three PBCTP chapters will host K. Carl Smith, President and Founder of the Frederick Douglass Republicans, as he explains his program of “Turning Values into Votes” – Outreach Minority Training.

Author of the bestselling book “Frederick Douglass Republicans: The Movement to Re-Ignite America’s Passion for Liberty“, Mr. Smith will discuss the number one challenge facing the conservative movement and the Republican Party – diversity inclusion.

A truth-teller, K. Carl’s Frederick Douglass Republican message resonates with those who hold liberty in high esteem. It was KCarl’s FDR message which inspired Louisiana state Senator Elbert Guillory’s party switch to the Republican Party and conservative movement. KCarl is an unyielding defender of the constitution and liberty, inspired by the guiding principles of the Founding Fathers and he holds fast to the oath taken during his service to our country.

Biography of K. Carl Smith

According to RedState, “KCarl Smith is one of the most influential people in America you have never heard of. Most certainly, KCarl is one of the most important people grassroots conservatives and Republicans Party leaders should be listening to right now.”

A former U.S. Army officer, KCarl is the President and Founder of Frederick Douglass Republicans and author of the best-selling book entitled, Frederick Douglass Republicans: The Movement to Re-Ignite America’s Passion for Liberty.

In 2011, an upper level executive of the NAACP, who wishes to remain nameless, read KCarl’s book and commented, “If the message in KCarl’s book gets on a national level, the Democrat Party would be toast and President Obama would be history.”

It was KCarl’s Frederick Douglass Republican message that inspired Louisiana State Senate Elbert Guillory’s party switch from Democrat to Republican. Here’s what Senator Guillory says about KCarl, “A year ago, after months of soul searching and extreme discomfort with Democrat Party’s stances on marriage, abortion, guns and work, KCarl helped me find comfort in the GOP’s values. Then he helped me articulate my need to change. As I write these words, I recall my turmoil and pain and I thank God for sending KCarl to my rescue.”

You may have seen KCarl on the 700 Club, The BlazeTV and FoxNEWS’ Huckabee Show. He is featured in Rev. C.L. Bryant’s Runaway Slave Documentary.
