Jupiter/PBG Chapter Meeting Welcomes Author and Former Prosecutor KrisAnne Hall

Constitutional expert, KrisAnne Hall, will address the Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens Chapter on May 7th. KrisAnne is an attorney and former prosecutor.  Fired after teaching the Constitution to Tea Party groups, she would not sacrifice liberty for a paycheck. She is a disabled veteran of the US Army, a Russian linguist, a mother, a pastor’s wife and a patriot. She now travels the country and teaches the Constitution and the history that gave us our founding documents.

The title of KrisAnne’s talk is “Roots of Liberty”, speaking to the roots and genealogy of the Constitution.

KrisAnne does not just teach the Constitution, she lays the foundations that show how reliable and relevant our founding documents are today. She will connect the dots for you like no one else can! Bring your family and friends for the most compelling and easily understood summary of our Constitution and what is happening in our country today.

KrisAnne is the author of Not a Living Breathing Document: Reclaiming Our Constitution, and the DVD series The Roots of Liberty: The Historic Foundations of The Bill of Rights and Bedtime Stories for Budding Patriots and Essential Stories for Junior Patriots. Two books that inspired KrisAnne’s love for our history were Founding Brothers by Joseph Ellis and 1776 by David McCollough.

Awarded the Freedom Fighter award by Americans for Prosperity, the Certificate of Achievement from the Sons of the Revolution for her defense of Liberty, and Congressman James Blair Award for Defending the Constitution.

Don’t Miss the Great Music at our Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th

You can’t miss our 2012 Tax Day Tea Party on Sunday, April 15th at the Wellington Amphitheater starting at 1:30pm.  Our keynote speakers will be Congressman Allen West, Dick Morris from Fox News, Anita MonCrief from ACORN fame, Dan Mangru from Fox Business, and local talk radio hosts Joyce Kaufman and Craig Henne.  Our MC will be Brian Mudd from WJNO AM1290.  We have a host of other speakers listed here.

In addition, we will have activities for children, excellent food concession from the Tuxedo Gourmet, drawings with great prizes, and much more!

If that weren’t enough, we will have opera-trained Lou Galterio sing the National Anthem, and a young up & coming singer, Brie Goldsobel singing patriotic songs.

An extra special treat will be the music of LeVeL, a West Palm Beach-based band (area code 561) best known for edgy, acoustic rock.  Their unique and predominantly original music is a direct reflection of the band members’ extensive and varied experiences, and contains elements of classic rock, punk, funk, jazz, acoustic rock, dance music and heavy metal.  Their music is uplifting, inspiring and will touch the hearts of people of all ages.

National Taxpayers Union Rating of Congress is Finalized!

The long awaited 2011 NTU Rating of Congress is finally here!  Those unable to contain their excitement can head to the website right now to check it out.

For those who can, here are some cool things from this year’s, last year’s rating:

  • NTU evaluated 337 roll call votes in the House and 234 in the Senate on everything from taxes to burdensome regulations, to budgets, to spending and everything limited government in between to come up with this very robust appraisal of Congress.
  • There were some minor improvements – the average House scored jumped eight points to 50%, the average Senate score rose one point to 46%
  • Fewer Members secured “A” grades and NTU’s “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” – only 53 in the House and Senate down from 79 last year
  • Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) snagged the top Senate spot with a 96%
  • Rep. John Duncan (R-TN) topped the House at 93% ending the unprecedented 8-year reign of Representative Jeff Flake (R-AZ) as top scorer (though his drop was not a long one to 7th overall).

The 912 Super Seniors are Fighting for Limited Government and Religious Freedom

Hello fellow Patriots,

This is a proposal that we work as a group of patriot Long Islanders to initiate in each parish a free standing group working to preserve  freedom of religion.

We can start from  Tom Hackert’s spreadsheets of parishes in CD 1 and 3.  They give us a wonderful tool to begin by listing those Long Island parishes.  More to follow.

The end goal is to have every faith community working toward restoring our 1st amendment rights by voting for the candidates who will do that.

However, if we come to the churches with a political party or candidate…or as a tea party or 912 we will lose some or all of the support immediately.  If churches develop their own freedom of religion groups they will end up concluding whom they should vote for.  I expect we should be able to find our members already involved in every church.

But we who are trying to initiate this must have in our minds and in our hearts that our goal in these inter parish groups is not party nor candidate driven.  Our goals, our speech and our actions must be true to the preservation of our Freedom of Religion rights under attack.  In that way our experience and determination can set these groups on their own path to informing others and acting to preserve the 1st amendment. We are not there to push even our patriot groups. People who want that will know who we are and will come to us.

How active we may be in these groups is up to each situation.  However, initiating the groups NOW and IN GREAT NUMBER is imperative to bring many more Americans to the defense of our Constitution.

This is the process:

#1  Identify leaders from our patriot groups who are already active in each parish. If we can only find members who are not active but willing to work, so be it.

#2  Encourage them to  approach their pastor about having an exploratory meeting to form a parish group, as per Cardinal Dolan’s suggestion. The purpose of the group would be the preservation of our religious freedoms.

 #3  Facilitate the group’s formation and functioning as needed.

Once a parish group is established that group will decide:

How to educate and inform themselves and their parish.

Whether and how to reach out for support to other faith groups in their communities.

Whether and how to work with parishes in and outside the diocese.

What actions will accomplish their goals.

Which public figures will or will not preserve religious freedom.

We can then add your name to the master spreadsheet so we can know which parishes will be contacted. If you would like to discuss how to approach your pastor we would be happy to help.

Cardinal Dolan said it is unwise to yield to the temptation to be frustrated by politics and leave it to others, because that leaves a vacuum that will be filled by “the religion called secularism.” Secularism has a creed, dogma, adherents and a strong belief that “our religion should not be involved in the public square,” he said. “They’ll be happy to take over for us and we can’t let that happen.”

He said the bishops’ role is to preach principles, but the laity’s charism is to be involved in politics and bring a religiously informed conscience to the public square.

“We can be political without being partisan. We ought to bring values and convictions to politics. We will not be misled by people who say we shouldn’t be involved,” he said.

Florida United for Freedom — a Tea Party Summit in Orlando with Senatorial Straw Poll

This weekend, I attended a Tea Party Summit in Orlando.  It was accurately named “Florida United for Freedom.”  If anyone believes that the tea party movement is dying, they should have been at this event.  Approximately 200 tea party leaders from across the state of Florida met to discuss issues, strategies, opportunities to collaborate, and technologies available for grassroots activism.  The tea party movement is getting stronger and working smarter!

Also attending and presenting were several organizations that are supporting the tea party movement nationally, including True the Vote, Political Gravity, American Majority, Media Trackers, Big Voices, TheKitchenCabinet.us, Abigail Adams Project, Freedom Works, Family Research Council, and Americans for Prosperity.

The topics that we discussed included:

  1. The Energy Bill HB 7117 that was passed by all but two representatives and two senators even though more than 5000 letters were sent to the legislature against this bill.  It is now sitting on Governor Scott’s desk.  Tea party organizations across Florida are uniting in an Action Alert demanding that Gov. Scott veto this bill!
  2. Judicial activism running rampant in Florida courts.  It is critical that tea party groups research the judicial candidates that will be on the ballot; voters must know and understand each candidate before they get in the voting booth!
  3. How Media Matters studied 1000 voters registered in Ft. Lauderdale and found that 40+ were dead.  This is after Brenda Snipes, the Supervisor of Elections, supposedly cleaned up the voter database!
  4. The need for conservative poll watchers.  Since voter fraud is running rampant, it is imperative that we get not one, but several, conservative poll watchers at every polling station.  The Palm Beach County Tea Party is ahead of the curve on this one.  We had set a goal of recruiting over 100 poll watchers from our membership, and we continue to be successful in this endeavor.  If you haven’t signed up, yet, you can do so at one of our chapter meetings or at our Tax Day Tea Party.
  5. The need for oversight.  Voters need to study bills to be considered in the Florida legislature.  For instance HR3991 is a congressional act that would prohibit the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from allowing unions access to employee emails and phone numbers.  The NLRB is trying to force companies to give the unions this information through rule making, but HR3991 would keep that from happening.  This is a good bill and tea party members should let their state representatives and senators know how they feel about it.
  6. The need for voters to learn about Amendment 1:  Healthcare Freedom Act and Amendment 5: State Spending Cap
  7. How the SEIU went to Jacksonville and won the mayoral race.
We also had a senatorial candidate forum with Col. Mike McCalister, Senator George LeMieux, and Connie Mack IV.  There are significant differences between these candidates and it is critical that every voter study their voting records, backgrounds, and stances on current issues.  A straw poll at the end resulted in:

Craig Henne Now on the Tea Party Channel!

Craig Henne, a very popular conservative radio talk show host in Palm Beach County, was recently fired from WPBR1430AM where he held to 6am to 9am spot for years.  As Craig explains it, he was given the ultimatum to say positive things about Communism or leave.  He would not compromise his beliefs and he left.  That was the bad news last week.

Local Conservative Talk Show Host is Fired

This past weekend, we received news that Craig Henne, a popular talk show host in Palm Beach and Broward Counties, was fired.  You may have heard Craig in 6am to 9am time slot on WPBR 1340AM.

Craig has been a huge supporter of the Palm Beach County Tea Party since its inception.  He attends our events, talks about our activities on his show, and is even scheduled as a speaker for our upcoming 2012 Tax Day Tea Party at the Wellington Amphitheater on Sunday, April 115th.
