THE ALL ABOARD FLORIDA RUSE

The All Aboard Florida passenger train appears to be a ruse by Florida East Coast Industries (FECI) to wangle taxpayer funding of upgrades to their rail corridor so FECI will be able to more efficiently and profitably accommodate the increased freight traffic they expect to garner from the Panama canal enlargement.

All Aboard Florida seems to have no plan. No details have been provided on where they will get the passengers they need to fill 32 daily 400-passenger trains, what the operating costs will be, or what they will have to charge for a train ticket to be profitable. At the meeting on April 17th we were told All Aboard Florida has not even selected the train they will buy.

But what All Aboard Florida does clearly know is the necessity to borrow $2.5B from the taxpayers. With that money they will be able to add one or two parallel tracks to accommodate all the fast-moving passenger trains and slower-moving freight trains simultaneously moving North and South, upgrade crossings to make it unnecessary to constantly blow the horns, make the corridor secure to minimize trespassing, and improve the bridges over the waterways they transit.

A most likely scenario (if it even goes that far): The passenger service will quickly go belly-up for lack of riders, the loans will not be repaid and the taxpayers will be stuck holding the $2.5B bag. But the increased freight service will be even more profitable for FECI with a modern upgraded rail corridor paid for by the taxpayers.

Are the politicians and taxpayers really so stupid as to allow that to happen?

ABOLISH THE BLM AND SAVE $1.3B EACH YEAR

Why do we have a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) harassing ranchers and chasing them and their cattle off of lands they have used for grazing for generations?

Why does the federal government hold so much of this country’s land?

The BLM has an annual budget of over $1.3B.

Let’s reduce the federal government’s annual budget by $1.3B by giving the federal lands to their respective states and abolishing the BLM.

1.
What You Are Not Being Told About the Invasion of America

. Rome burned as Nero fiddled. Today, the American-Mexican border is going up in smoke. America is being invaded and successfully occupied. Obama is fanning the flames of border violence and artificially contrived human destitution through his unyielding attitude of corporate servitude resulting in providing the globalists with an endless supply of cheap, illegal alien labor regardless of the cost to the American people and their safety as well as the safety of the immigrants themselves. And on a more grand scale, this crisis is one more nail in the coffin in America and Obama knows exactly what he is doing.

2.
Arrested For Anti-Obama Posts

. People across America are getting arrested for posting non-violent criticisms of Barak Obama. In the case you are about to see, one Marine veteran was sent to psychiatric training and diagnosed with ODD (Opposition Defiance Disorder) for his criticism of the way the government is being run.

3.
Man says apartment complex called his US flag a ‘threat to Muslim community’

. A Webster man says his apartment complex manager told him his American flag was a “threat to the Muslim community,” and that he has to take it down. But he’s not giving up without a fight. Stepping onto Duy Tran’s balcony in Webster, one thing is clear: “It means a lot to me,” he said. He’s talking about his American flag that he proudly put up when he moved in just a few days ago. But then an apartment manager at the Lodge on El Dorado told him he had to take it down. “What really stunned me is that she said it’s a threat towards the Muslim community,” said Tran. “I’m not a threat toward anybody.” We tried to ask a manager if that’s exactly what was said, but she just handed us a statement, refused to answer any questions, and called an officer to escort us off the property, before we could press any further:

4.
Who will stop this imposter?

. When the bull is escorted from the china shop after all the pieces are broken, it’s hard to put things back together. The United States is the china shop…guess who’s the bull. I suggest that the horns are the president and the body belongs to the Democratic party. For those who haven’t listened; didn’t care; belittled the soothsayers; sloughed off the radicals and ridiculed the lovers of this country, what you’re seeing now is the beginning of the end. The illegitimate president of this once great land has been running rampant with nothing to stop him. From left-wing Supreme Court justices to Benghazi to Solyndra to disregard of limitations on presidential powers to borders wide open to illegals, drug traffickers and open invitations to hundreds of thousands of illegal children from everywhere south to house- feed-educate in camps and border cities.

5.
Bird conversancy group sues U.S. over 30-year permits to legally kill eagles

. A bird advocacy group sued the U.S. government on Thursday over rules it says loosen protections for eagles killed by wind turbines, arguing they threaten decades of protection that saved the bald eagle, America’s national emblem, from extinction. The American Bird Conservancy filed suit in federal court in California to challenge the authorization of 30-year permits to renewable energy developers to accidentally kill protected bald and golden eagles, which may die as a result of collisions with towering wind turbines.

6.
Kerry: US to share information with Iran about the Sunni jihadists in Iraq

. “We are interested in communicating with Iran. That the Iranians know what we’re thinking, that we know what they’re thinking and there is a sharing of information so people aren’t making mistakes,” Kerry said. Actually, the Iranians do know what Kerry and Obama are thinking. But do Kerry and Obama know what they’re thinking? Absolutely not. What the Iranian mullahs are thinking is, Let’s see how much of our dirty work in Iraq we can get the foolish kuffar to do for us, weakening them and making it easier for us to ultimately destroy them.” They’re thinking, “Kerry and Obama keep surprising us about how stupid they really are.”

7.
Secret Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) – Financial Services Annex

. Today, WikiLeaks released the secret draft text for the Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) Financial Services Annex, which covers 50 countries and 68.2%1 of world trade in services. The US and the EU are the main proponents of the agreement, and the authors of most joint changes, which also covers cross-border data flow. In a significant anti-transparency manoeuvre by the parties, the draft has been classified to keep it secret not just during the negotiations but for five years after the TISA enters into force.

8.
City Shuts Down Kid’s Free Library Lending Box

. In Leawood, Kansas, 9-year-old Spencer Collin’s attempts to share free books lasted a week before being shut down by city ordinance. Not too much bigger than a mail box, what started as a Mother’s Day gift to also help the neighborhood, is now relegated to the garage as of Wednesday. Spencer’s vision for his little free library was for people to “get into reading, get to know your neighbors, and just make new, meet new people, make friends.” But the city warned the family with a notice to stop, actually claiming that “the little house” is an accessory structure, buildings that aren’t attached to the house. A building? Would it help if it was shaped like a shoe? Poor Spencer thought he could get around the law by attaching a rope from the house to the box.

9.
Eric Holder’s DOJ Sets Up ‘Terrorism Committee’ to Investigate ‘Anti-Government’ Extremism

. It is not a controversial claim to state that Attorney General Eric Holder has politicized the Department of Justice. In the past, this politicization has amounted to stonewalling, monitoring journalists, or dropping ideologically inconvenient cases. But now the Department of Justice is shifting gears into overdrive and is intent on finding the roots of “anti-government” animus (as if it’s a condition of citizenship to support the government no matter what).

10.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Grants Itself Authority to Shut Down Any Business at Anytime

. Last week the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, through the power of Dodd-Frank, passed a rule giving the agency unprecedented power to shut down businesses, no matter what the reason, at any time it wishes through a cease-and-desist order. Further, the rule puts businesses at the mercy of the CFPB and they cannot go back into operation until government approval or a court ruling is made over an issue. Subsequently because bureaucratic decisions and court rulings take a substantial amount of time to happen, businesses cannot survive during those waiting periods.

11.
Martial law: the regime’s end game?

. “Soft tyranny,” was first coined by Alexander de Tocqueville in “Democracy in America” as: “Whenever the social conditions of a particular community hinder any prospect of hope among its members.” Some differentiate “soft” tyranny from “hard” or Stalin-esque tyranny as being bloodless. But life can be extinguished without a drop of blood being spilled. There is no quicker way to consign an idea to ignominy than to posit what could be construed as a conspiracy theory. But, when six years of presidential policies alone results in the unprecedented grinding of an entire nation into the dirt, perhaps it’s time for wishful thinkers to stop pretending that the Emperor is swathed in sartorial splendor and that he is, instead, naked. Preferably before our soft tyranny gets very, very hard. Then it will be too late.

12.
Defund HUD’s Affirmative-Action Zoning

. Using its power of the purse, Congress can stop what might be the most disturbing social-engineering project ever undertaken by the federal government. Will it? Last week, House Republicans pushed through an amendment to a HUD spending bill that defunds enforcement of the agency’s new “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” rule. The Orwellian-sounding regulation, set for final OK in October, would force some 1,200 municipalities to redraw zoning maps to racially diversify suburban neighborhoods. Now it’s up to Senate Republicans to tie up this local power grab by the Obama administration. Under the scheme, HUD plans to map every U.S. neighborhood by race and publish “geospatial data” pinpointing racial imbalances. Areas deemed overly segregated will be forced to change their zoning laws to allow construction of subsidized and other affordable housing to bring more low-income minorities into “white suburbs.” HUD’s maps will be used to select affordable housing sites. It’s part of an ambitious agenda to eliminate “racial segregation,” ZIP code by ZIP code, block by block, through the systematic dismantling of allegedly “exclusionary” building ordinances. In effect, federal bureaucrats will have the power to rezone your neighborhood.

13.
Stunning: DHS solicited bids for vendor to handle 65,000 unaccompanied minors — IN JANUARY!

. The Obama administration’s claim to have been surprised by the wave of children flooding over out borders may turn out to be another political lie of the year. Sundance of Conservative Treehouse noticed a very peculiar advertisement: On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“.

14.
House Republicans elected a new Majority Leader who is even more liberal than Eric Cantor.

. When given an opportunity to change direction, House Republicans elected a leader who is even more liberal than Eric Cantor. House Republicans replaced House Majority Leader Eric Cantor with his lackluster 52% conservative rating with Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) who has an abominable 42% rating! If that wasn’t bad enough, they also promoted Steve Scalise (R-LA) to Majority Whip. Scalise is known for weakening the once formidable conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC). He even fired Dr. Paul Teller, the RSC’s Executive Director, for working too closely with conservative groups.

15.
Another American Company Goes Abroad, Escaping High Tax Rates

. The world’s largest medical technology company, Medtronic, has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from Minneapolis to Dublin, Ireland. With U.S. corporate tax rate at a mighty 35 percent, one of the highest in the world, it is no wonder Medtronic would rather operate from Ireland, where the tax rate is only 12.5 percent.

16.
New EPA Regs Issued Under Obama Are 38 Times as Long as Bible

. Since President Barack Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued 2,827 new final regulations, equaling 24,915 pages in the Federal Register, totaling approximately 24,915,000 words. The Gutenberg Bible is only 1,282 pages and 646,128 words. Thus, the new EPA regulations issued by the Obama Administration contain 19 times as many pages as the Bible and 38 times as many words.

17.
Global Warming ‘Fabricated’ By NASA And NOAA

. Scientists at two of the world’s leading climate centres – NASA and NOAA – have been caught out manipulating temperature data to overstate the extent of the 20th century “global warming”. The evidence of their tinkering can clearly be seen at Real Science, where blogger Steven Goddard has posted a series of graphs which show “climate change” before and after the adjustments. When the raw data is used, there is little if any evidence of global warming and some evidence of global cooling. However, once the data has been adjusted – ie fabricated by computer models – 20th century ‘global warming’ suddenly looks much more dramatic.

18.
Outrageous Video: DHS Trashes Couple’s Home, Strips Woman Naked at Gunpoint, Offers No Explanation

. In America, we have certain rights. Central to our civil liberties is a presumption of innocence until having been found guilty in a court of law and the right of citizens to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures. One Florida couple found out the hard way that though these rights exist in theory, the modern federal government feels free to play fast-and-loose with these concepts. At approximately 6:16 am on June 10th, 2014, Kari Edwards and her live-in boyfriend were seized upon by a SWAT team who smashed in the door and using flashbangs and armed to the teeth, swarmed upon the couple and even stripped Ms. Edwards naked in the process.

19.
UN Accelerates Plan For Global Gun Confiscation After Collapse

. The United Nations is gearing up for gun confiscation in the event of a societal collapse in numerous countries by hiring “disarmament, demobilization and reintegration” officers who will be trained to seize guns “from the civilian population.” A posting on the United Nations Career Opportunities page announces a vacancy for the position of “Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Officer” under the UN’s Department of Peacekeeping Operations based out of New York. The UN’s page on DDR operations explains what role the DDR officer will be expected to undertake; Disarmament is the collection, documentation, control and disposal of small arms, ammunition, explosives and light and heavy weapons from combatants and often from the civilian population.

20.
More Pushback: Tennessee Quits Common Core Aligned Test

. Tennessee has removed itself from the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers testing consortium aligned to the Common Core national education standards, joining the ranks of 18 other states pushing back against Common Core. Gov. Bill Haslam, Commissioner of Education Kevin Huffman and the chair of the state board of education, Fielding Rolston, sent a letter to PARCC CEO Laura Slover announcing the state’s decision to exit PARCC and re-adopt the old state exam, the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program. This letter follows legislation passed by the state legislature and signed by Haslam in May.

21.
The Bill of No Rights

. it was written in 1993 by Lewis Napper, who ran for a Senate seat from Mississippi in 2000 as a libertarian. As he recounts: In the first days of the Clinton presidency, as taxes increased and the administration plotted a takeover of the nation’s health care system, Napper grew sick of watching as “our true rights were eroded, always in the name of giving everyone some new imaginary ‘right.’ “ One day in 1993, after hearing a Hillary Clinton speech on the radio, Napper had had enough. He skipped his lunch break at a computer consulting job, and sat down at his keyboard to bang out a response. In less than an hour, he had written the “Bill of No Rights,” which became “the e-mail heard ’round the world.”

22.
US military personnel forced to submit to the sharia during Ramadan

. Our troops must adhere to the sharia during the Islamic month of Ramadanin Bahrain and outher Muslim countries. Subjected to dawah (proselytizing) by an a base Islamic cultural adviser at the Naval Support Activity, soldiers are forced to sit through lessons on Islam. No eating, drinking, alcohol, smoking during the month of Ramadan. This is what the Obama administration and the US military are obsessed with as armies of jihad tear through the Middle East.

23.
6.9 million multiple voters in 28 states, report finds

. Some 6.9 million Americans are registered to vote in two or more states, according to a report obtained by Watchdog.org. “Our nation’s voter rolls are a mess,” says Catherine Engelbrecht, president of the election-watch group True The Vote. “Sensible approaches to roll maintenance are fought tooth and nail by radical special interests who can use the duplicity in the system to their advantage,” she said. The latest interstate voter cross check tallied 6,951,484 overlapping voter registrations, and they’re just the tip of the iceberg. The cross-check program involves only 28 states and does not include the three largest: California, Texas and Florida.

24.
Shocking! Obama Announces New World Order 2014 Speech

. Nineteen seconds that tell all one needs to know about our President’s governing philosophy.

25.
Trey Gowdy’s hilarious dream about fellow politicians

. A joke that starts with three politicians died on the same day and went to Heaven, you just know will be funny.

1.
Georgia To Seize Dormant Bank Accounts: “Government is Going to Grab it”

. According to Simon Black at Sovereign Man, the State of Georgia has taken the unprecedented step of lowering the threshold on inactive or dormant bank accounts to just twelve months. What that means to average Georgians is that if you fail to utilize your account within one year your deposited funds will be confiscated by the state. Though all 50 states have regulations pertaining to dormant bank accounts, Black says that Georgia takes the grand prize in how swiftly they’re prepared to go after your money.

2.
Integrity Florida statement on Gov. Scott signing inspectors general reform bill

. “Inspectors general are the public’s watchdogs within state government but they need more independence to do their jobs effectively,” said Dan Krassner, executive director of the nonpartisan research institute and government watchdog group Integrity Florida. “This law should reduce the influence of state agency heads over the internal government watchdogs who audit and investigate their agencies.

3.
Wind Turbines Causing Mothers to Eat Their Own Babies, Says Mink Farmer

. The owner of a Danish mink farm at the centre of a controversy over nearby wind turbines has reported more casualties among his animals. Breitbart London reported on Tuesday that the turbines have been linked to a series of miscarriages and deformities among the mink, as well as increasingly aggressive behaviour, but the farmer now says that things have got worse, with healthy pups having to be put down. The farmer reports having to separate the mothers from their young after they became aggressive and started attacking them. This happened at the same time that the wind changed to the south, bringing the noise from the turbines directly over the farm.

4.
Al Qaeda/ISIS leader: ‘See You in New York’

. When Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi walked away from a U.S. detention camp in 2009, the future leader of ISIS issued some chilling final words to reservists from Long Island. The Islamist extremist some are now calling the most dangerous man in the world had a few parting words to his captors as he was released from the biggest U.S. detention camp in Iraq in 2009.“He said, ‘I’ll see you guys in New York,’” recalls Army Col. Kenneth King, then the commanding officer of Camp Bucca.

5.
Liberal groups angry with SC pols over order to teach Constitution

. The South Carolina legislature has rankled liberal groups after requiring that a pair of public schools use state funds to teach the U.S. Constitution and other founding documents — on the heels of a budget fight over gay-themed books in the curriculum. State House lawmakers previously had cut funds from two public universities in retaliation for required-reading material containing homosexual themes. A revised budget passed by both the House and the Senate earlier this month, though, restored the money — but dictated that exact amount be spent “for instruction in the provisions and principles of the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Federalist Papers, including the study of and devotion to American institutions and ideals.”

6.
Sandy Hook Redux: Obama officials confirm that it was a drill and no children died

. Sofia Smallstorm, who produced and directed the documentary, “Unraveling Sandy Hook”, which many regard as the best video study of the Sandy Hook event, recently interviewed a Los Angeles school expert, Paul Preston, about Sandy Hook and his knowledge of what had transpired. Remarkably, we now have confirmation from an unexpected source. Paul Preston had obtained information from officials in the U.S. Department of Education of the Barack Obama administration, who confirmed to him on the basis of their own personal knowledge that: (1) it had been a drill; (2) no children had been killed; and, (3) it had been done to promote an anti-gun agenda.

7.
Louisiana gov. Bobby Jindal vetoes controversial common core bill
– B.M.G.
. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal vetoed Friday a controversial bill that many critics of the Common Core standards said would bind the state further both to the nationalized standards and the PARCC tests aligned to them. According to The Advocate, the measure, House Bill 953, which was sponsored by state Rep. Walt Leger (D), would give students, teachers, and schools one more year to prepare for the Common Core standards. “Given the widespread opposition and the gravity of any decision that affects our children, I have vetoed House Bill 953 and hereby return it to the House of Representatives,” Jindal wrote. The governor added that the measure “would significantly impair parents’ ability to have clear information about the performance of their child’s school and teachers’ ability to have meaningful feedback.”

8.
Obama Quietly Releases 12 Jihad Terrorists From US Military Prison in Afghanistan

. First it was the five top Taliban commanders traded for the traitor Bowe Bergdahl. Now this. The traitor in the White House seems determined to endanger Americans by releasing as many jihadis as he can. It’s no wonder that these releases were not publicly announced. But no worries: the Pakistanis say they’ll monitor these jihadis to make sure they don’t have any “militant ties.” That’s right: the pro-jihad Pakistani government will make sure that everything is fine.

9.
The Freedom Mask

. America, the land of the free… or is it? Home of the brave, land of the free. That is what we are supposed to believe. What we are conditioned to believe. Consider this: A rat born in captivity doesn’t know anything else. We could label that captivity “freedom” and the rat would know no difference. We who were born in America have been told time and time again that we are free and that other countries hate us for our freedom and that we must spread that freedom throughout the world. We are taught to believe that our troops are sent to kill and die to protect us from those that hate us, and that if they didn’t, we would live in captivity, slavery, and authoritarian rule. But what if it’s all a lie? What if the freedom that we cherish is actually a carefully constructed mask designed to fool those within and without the nation, disguising the true nature of the beast system that we live under? A system created by those who would be king? A system of slavery so complete that we, like the rat, cannot tell the difference because the cage is all we know? What if the freedom that we imagine ourselves to have is all an illusion? Poof! Gone like the wind. Out the door like yesterday’s trash.

10.
The United States of Debt: Total Debt In America Hits A New Record High Of Nearly 60 Trillion Dollars

. What would you say if I told you that Americans are nearly 60 TRILLION dollars in debt? Well, it is true. When you total up all forms of debt including government debt, business debt, mortgage debt and consumer debt, we are 59.4 trillion dollars in debt. That is an amount of money so large that it is difficult to describe it with words. For example, if you were alive when Jesus Christ was born and you had spent 80 million dollars every single day since then, you still would not have spent 59.4 trillion dollars by now. And most of this debt has been accumulated in recent decades. If you go back 40 years ago, total debt in America was sitting at about 2.2 trillion dollars. Somehow over the past four decades we have allowed the total amount of debt in the United States to get approximately 27 times larger. This is utter insanity, and anyone that thinks this is sustainable is completely deluded. We are living in the greatest debt bubble of all time, and there is no way that this is going to end well. Just check out the chart…

Florida’s Economy is An $800 Billion Powerhouse

. If the Sunshine State was a country, Florida’s economy would be the 18th largest in the world – larger than Saudi Arabia, Poland, Chile and Argentina. Florida’s economy can be measured any number of ways. From employment and unemployment rates to education rankings and income metrics- there are a number of ways to examine how Florida is moving toward a prosperous future. One important economic measure we will focus on in this Scorecard Did You Know is Florida’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Agency Aims to Regulate Map Aids in Vehicles

. Getting directions on the road from Google Maps and other smartphone apps is a popular alternative to the expensive navigation aids included in some cars. The apps are also a gray area when it comes to laws banning the use of cellphones or texting while driving. The Transportation Department wants to enter the argument. The department is intensifying its battle against distracted driving by seeking explicit authority from Congress to regulate navigation aids of all types, including apps on smartphones. The measure, included in the Obama administration’s proposed transportation bill, would specify that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has the authority to set restrictions on the apps and later order changes if they are deemed dangerous, much the way it currently regulates mechanical features of cars.

Bill Signing Makes Florida 22nd State to Pass Medical Marijuana Legislation

. With the governor’s signature Monday on the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act of 2014, Florida became the 22nd state in the nation — not counting the District of Columbia, which is also on board — to pass legislation supporting the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Price Index for Meats, Poultry, Fish & Eggs Rockets to All-Time High

. The seasonally-adjusted price index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs hit an all-time high in May, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In January 1967, when the BLS started tracking this measure, the index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs was 38.1. As of last May, it was 234.572. By this January, it hit 240.006. By April, it hit 249.362. And, in May, it climbed to a record 252.832. “The index for meats, poultry, fish and eggs has risen 7.7 percent over the span [last year],” says the BLS. “The index for food at home increased 0.7 percent, its largest increase since July 2011. Five of the six major grocery store food group indexes increased in May. The index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs rose 1.4 percent in May after a 1.5 increase in April, with virtually all its major components increasing,”

IRS Head Koskinen Lied About ‘Lost’ Lerner Emails

. In testimony last March, the IRS chief told Congress that the now-allegedly irretrievable emails were not immediately available because they were safely stored offline. Maybe the NSA can help find them? Rep. Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed IRS Commissioner John Koskinen to testify June 23 about Lois Lerner’s suddenly lost emails. One of the topics is expected to be his prior contradictory congressional testimony. Koskinen testified about the emails at an Oversight hearing in March and, as investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson notes, gave quite the opposite impression from the current storyline that has every computer nerd in America rolling on the floor laughing.

Obama Unilaterally Puts Huge Swaths Of Pacific Ocean Off-Limits To Development

. President Barack Obama announced new executive orders Tuesday to make huge swaths of the Pacific Ocean off limits to fishing, energy exploration and other economic activities. The move would create the world’s largest marine sanctuary, and is part of a broader push to tackle global warming and halt offshore energy development. This effort will be led by Secretary of State John Kerry and White House adviser John Podesta Obama’s new executive orders would expand the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument from 87,000 square miles to 782,000 square miles. All the waters being put off-limits would are located near U.S.-controlled islands and atolls, and the designation includes waters up to 200 nautical miles within U.S. holdings.

17.
IRS Was Required By Law to Print Out Lois Lerner’s Emails

. The Internal Revenue Service is required by federal law to keep records of all agency emails and to print out hard copies of the emails to make sure they get saved in the event of a computer glitch. The IRS recently claimed that it lost 24,000 of 67,000 emails that ex-official Lois Lerner sent between 2009 and 2011, due to a computer crash. The IRS, which agreed to turn over all of Lerner’s emails to the House Committee on Ways and Means, specifically lost emails Lerner sent to other Obama administration agencies and the White House. Lerner is a major figure in the targeting scandal that has hit the IRS.

18.
Company That Created Obamacare Website LINKED To Benghazi Video

. In a SHOCKING discovery, CGI Federal – the Canadian Company that built the Obamacare website – appears to have a connection to the “Innocence of Muslims” video the Obama administration blamed for the Benghazi attacks. And here’s how it was done: The evidence is well established that in 2010, CGI acquired Stanley Associates, which “provides services to the U.S. federal civilian, defense and intelligence agencies”. [1] When the crudely produced video “Innocence of Muslims” was posted to a YouTube it needed a boost, especially since it was posted by someone no one had ever heard of and who had only uploaded two videos – that were basically the same. Well, a YouTube channel known as NewsPoliticsNow3 (NPN3) has been connected to Stanley Associates, the service provider for U.S. defense and “intelligence”. On September 11, 2012, NewsPoliticsNow3 (NPN3) uploaded a short version of the video (only 1:32 of it). It was in fact NPN3 (see screenshot below taken 19 hours after video uploaded) which gave the crude movie a new title “Innocence of Muslims”, instead of the name given previously.

19.
The Death Of The Rust Belt

. Their names are familiar to all of us: Cleveland, Flint, Youngstown, Saginaw, Gary, Toledo, Reading, Akron, Flint and Buffalo were all once booming manufacturing cities that were absolutely packed with thriving middle class families. But now most of the manufacturing jobs are gone and all of those cities are just shadows of their former selves. When you drive through many of these communities, you will notice that a lot of people have a really hollow look in their eyes. Decades of slow, steady economic decline have really taken a toll, and even the architecture in these cities looks depressed. But despite all of the decay, there is still evidence that there was once something truly great about these communities. Will we be able to recapture that greatness before it is too late?

20.
The First Organism with Artificial DNA

. Synthetic biologists have been trying to expand the natural code of DNA, which provides the genetic instructions for all life using just four nucleosides. However, researchers haven’t been able to make the artificial DNA work in a living organism until recently. A team of scientists at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) has engineered a bacterium whose genetic material includes an added pair of DNA letters not found in nature. The advance could one day lead to the development of new antibiotics and other products that cells with the natural genetic code cannot make.

Jindal order would make Louisiana latest state to pull out of Common Core

. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal issued an executive order that would effectively make the Bayou State the fourth to withdraw from Common Core this year, but a top education official vowed to implement the national education standards anyway. Jindal, used the order to defy state lawmakers who support the national education standard by requiring competitive bidding for tests tied to education standards. The move would likely block Common Core-tied testing program, known as PARCC for students in third through eighth grades. The tests administered by PARCC, an acronym for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, have not been purchased yet, and Jindal noted they are among the most expensive available.

22.
High School In Woodbury Blocks Students From Accessing Conservative Sites

. A Woodbury High Schooler claims he uncovered political bias in the implementation of a firewall blocking some political Web sites at his school. 18-year-old Andrew Lampart, a senior at Nonnewaug High School, said he made the discovery when he was doing research for a classroom debate on gun control in May. Lampart said he first noticed that he could not get on the web site for the National Rifle Association. “So, I went over to the other side. And I went over on sites such as Moms Demand Action or Newtown Action Alliance and I could get on these Web sites but not the others,” Lampart said. Lampart investigated further, by broadening his search terms to Connecticut’s political parties. “I immediately found out that the State Democrat web site was unblocked but the State GOP web site was blocked.”

23.
U.S. Military blocks infowars.com

. Website censored for over 700,000 active duty servicemembers worldwide. A servicemember forwarded the above print out which shows that the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), which serves “more than 707,000 Sailors, Marines and civilians in 620 locations in the continental United States, Hawaii, and Japan, making it the largest internal computer network in the world,” is censoring Infowars.com in order to “safeguard the security posture and/or to maintain the operational integrity of the NMCI.”

24.
DHS to pay for illegal immigrants to be escorted into U.S.

. Minors up to age of 17 to be brought in “with dignity and respect” at taxpayer expense. The Department of Homeland Security is set to pay for illegal minors up to the age of 17 to be escorted into the United States, according to a new solicitation posted at FedBizOpps.. The post does not explain how ICE arrived at the figure of 65,000 children, nor does it clear up why 50% of the illegal minors are arriving via commercial air. The DHS intends to award the chosen vendor(s) 5 year fix priced contracts.

Pat Sajak finds missing Lois Lerner emails, wins the Internet

. Everyone has an opinion on Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner’s missing emails — including “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak. The game show host tweeted this on Saturday: Weird. Hundreds of emails to & from someone named Lerner just showed up in my spam. Must be British. Lots of tea talk.

1.
A Clueless President That Wears His Incompetence With Pride

. President Obama was completely surprised by the IRS scandal. Dumbfounded, in fact, that government workers would help his 2012 re-election campaign. And the NSA scandal. Who could possibly anticipate citizen outrage over government monitoring all their communications? Obama was clueless about the ObamaCare debacle, even days after its botched rollout dominated national news. Months after staff warnings of fundamental tech troubles within his namesake legislation.

2.
Personal data on ObamaCare enrollees may be compromised

. Connecticut’s health insurance exchange acknowledged Friday that the personal information of some enrollees may have been compromised. In a statement, Access Health CT CEO Kevin Counihan said that an individual discovered a backpack on a Hartford street containing the personal information of about 400 people.

3.
Feds to Spend $2.5M for Juvenile Justice Reform — in Central America

. The State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has announced a $2.5 million grant for juvenile justice reform and pre-trial detention in Guatemala, El Salvador and Panama. “Corrections systems in these countries suffer from acute overcrowding and inefficiencies which contribute to poor conditions and, at worst, active criminal recruiting and leadership of criminal activities from within prisons,” the grant announcement said.

4.
Arrogant Obama: ‘My government’ didn’t need Congress for exchange, and we will do it again

. In the scripted softball interview Obama showed no shame or hesitation in answering why Congress was kept in the dark. It was a “unanimous decision” by “my government,” Obama said, in his arrogant response. “I make no apologies for it,” he began, following his familiar “leave no man behind” mantra. ” It was a unanimous decision by my principals in my government . . . ” “This is something that I would do again, and I will continue to do wherever I have an opportunity, if I have a member of our military who’s in captivity.”

5.
Bolton slams administration: ‘Children are wonderful, but I don’t think they should be in charge of foreign policy’

. America’s former United Nations ambassador slammed the Obama administration over the Taliban prisoner exchange controversy Friday, telling Fox Business Channel that children shouldn’t be “in charge of foreign policy.”

6.
NYC Council to Walmart: Stop sending your “dangerous dollars” to our city’s charities

. I don’t even know what to say. Via the New York Post (hat tip to NRO), more than half of the members of the New York City Council have served Walmart with a letter demanding that the company stop making millions of dollars in charitable donations to local groups: Twenty-six of the 51 members of the Council charged in the letter that the world’s biggest retailer’s support of local causes is a cynical ploy to enter the market here. “We know how desperate you are to find a foothold in New York City to buy influence and support here,” says the letter, obtained by The Post and addressed to Walmart and the Walton Family Foundation. “Stop spending your dangerous dollars in our city,” the testy letter demands. “That’s right: this is a cease-and-desist letter.” Last week, Walmart announced that it distributed $3 million last year to charities here, including $1 million to the New York Women’s Foundation, which offers job training, and $30,000 to Bailey House, which distributes groceries to low-income residents.

Obama Hires Lawyers to Aid New Wave of Illegals

. The administration will use tax dollars to pay roughly 100 American lawyers to help a growing wave of young illegal immigrants settle in the United States. The new group, dubbed “justice AmericaCorps,” will “protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society … particularly young people who must appear in immigration proceedings,” said Attorney General Eric Holder in a Friday afternoon announcement. “AmeriCorps members will provide critical support for these [border crossing] children, many of whom are escaping abuse, persecution or violence,” according to Wendy Spencer, head of AmeriCorps’ parent group, the Corporation for National and Community Service. Officials expect up to 60,000 foreign youths, children, mothers and fathers to cross the border in the 12 months up to October. In the same period in 2011, roughly 6,000 youths crossed the border.

9.
General Jerry Boykin spells out the Obama plan

. Special Forces Lt. Gen. W.G. Boykin Warns of Engineered Economic Collapse, Martial Law, Dictatorship. General Boykin is one of the original members of the elite Delta Force. He has been a student of enemy tactics, and here explains how Obama is following a step by step plan to turn America into a dictatorship.

10.
Obama’s death penalty review risks backlash from the states

. The generations-old debate over capital punishment has shifted to Washington, where President Obama’s Justice Department has launched a national review of the death penalty. Attorney General Eric Holder’s inquiry, initiated last month following a mishandled execution in Oklahoma, is still in its early stages. The effort includes a look at state death penalty protocols, though its scope and ultimate implications are not yet clear. But by ordering up the review, Obama is raising questions about what role, if any, the federal government should have on an issue that is traditionally the province of the states.

11.
Opposition to Common Core Mounts As Two More States Pull Out

. Oklahoma and South Carolina have now joined Indiana in rejecting the controversial Common Core Standards in favor of new state-developed education standards.

12.
Florida to School Districts: No More Biometric Scanning of Our Kids

. Florida became the first state in the U.S. to ban the scanning of students for biometric information when Gov. Rick Scott signed the Education Data Privacy Act into law May 12th The sweeping new privacy law prohibits any K-12 institutions from “collecting or retaining information regarding the political affiliation, voting history, religious affiliation, or biometric information of a student, parent, or sibling of a student.”

13.
Scott calls for 90-day comment period on federal All Aboard Florida environmental survey

. Gov. Rick Scott on Monday sent a letter to Michael Reininger, All Aboard Florida president and chief development officer, listing several concerns and encouraging community input on the planned passenger rail service. In his letter, Scott calls for extending the public comment period for a forthcoming report from the Federal Railroad Administration to 90 days from the already extended 75-day period All Aboard Florida has agreed to. “This additional time will allow communities more opportunity to have their specific concerns addressed,” Scott wrote to the company, which is set to connect Miami and Orlando with stops in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

14.
Cloward-Piven At The Border

. Back in the Sixties, Marxists Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven came up with a great strategy for overloading and collapsing democratic welfare states, paving the way for socialist tyranny. Basically, the idea was to hit the system with a tidal wave of demands it couldn’t refuse, and couldn’t possibly fulfill. The Left would then insist that the moral argument for the system remained intact, so the only way to meet those impossible demands was to scrap every vestige of Constitutional restraint and republican self-government, instituting a totalitarian system that in theory would forcibly restructure society to promote “fairness” and give all those government dependents what they “deserve.” (In practice, of course, what you actually get is an iron-fisted dictatorship that cooks up reports to make itself look good, or simply tells the unhappy citizens to shut up and obey when things deteriorate to the point that no volume of phony reports can paper over the problems – say, when the glorious worker’s paradise of Venezuela runs out of tap water.) Cloward and Piven were specifically interested in replacing welfare programs with a government-guaranteed annual income for everyone – an idea that still emerges from the more absurd quarters of the Left occasionally – but the basic idea of overloading the republican system and replacing it with centrally-planned tyranny can be applied in many different ways. Take a look at the humanitarian crisis on the southern border.

15.
Gov. Scott Signs Bill To Grant In-State Tuition Benefits To Illegal Immigrants

. The Florida state legislature approved a measure to extend in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants over a month ago, and Monday, it got the signature of approval from Republican Gov. Rick Scott.

16.
Hamas Reveals: Abbas Told Us He is “Tricking the Americans”

. “The spokesman, Ihab al-Ghussein, wrote on Facebook that ‘behind closed doors,’ Abbas had said ‘when I go out and say that the government is my government and it recognizes “Israel” and so on, fine – these words are meant to trick the Americans.’” And since this is just what the anti-Israel Obama administration wants to hear: the President of the “Palestinian” Authority lies about recognizing Israel, and that is enough for Obama to strong-arm and pressure Israel to make disastrous concessions to the “Palestinians.” And it never enters their minds that Abbas, like Arafat before him, might be lying to fool the kuffar (as per quran 3:28). Abbas is a Muslim! It’s a religion of peace! Obama say, “respect it”!

17.
IRS Sent Sensitive Info of Tax-Exempt Groups to FBI Before 2010 Elections

. The IRS sent a 1.1-million page database containing legally protected taxpayer information of tax-exempt organizations to the FBI several weeks before the 2010 midterm elections, according to new information from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. “The IRS’s transmittal of this information to the FBI shows that the IRS took affirmative steps to provide sensitive evidentiary material to law-enforcement officials about the political speech of nonprofits,” said Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) in a letter to the IRS Commissioner John Koskinen demanding more information.

18.
Watch: Megyn Kelly’s jolted by under-reported, Obama-caused crisis that’s ‘going to transform this country’

. The illegal alien surge that’s dumped thousands of children into overcrowded facilities in in American border states is only the “tip of the iceberg” of a crisis that’s going to get worse in the next few weeks, and it was “personally and directly” caused by President Obama’s defiance of Congress on immigration. That was the message of documentary film maker Dennis Michael Lynch and Fox News judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano speaking on a segment of “The Kelly File” Monday night that explored the reasons for the immigration wave of the past month. “Entire villages are emptying out and coming from Central America through Mexico to the United States,” said Lynch, who has made two films about illegal immigration and studied the issue extensively. “We are not going to be able to handle this. We can’t handle it now.”

19.
Obama Admin Wasn’t the only One behind the IRS Targeting of Tea Party Groups – Complaint Claims US Senators as Complicit

. Much has been made, and rightly so, about the Obama administration’s targeting of Conservatives and Tea Party groups. There is no doubt that with the information that has come out that the White House and the Internal Revenue Service were orchestrating the targeting of conservative groups. However, now the Center for Competitive Politics has filed a complaint, which claims that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) along with other Democrat senators sought to deny the free speech of their political opponents by using the IRS.

20.
Obama Endorses Australian-Style Gun Confiscation

. During a live discussion on student loan debt Tuesday President Barack Obama claimed that American gun violence was “off the charts.” “Levels of gun violence are off the charts,” Obama said. ” There is no advanced developed country on Earth that would put up with this.” Obama argued that Americans should be “ashamed,” using the opportunity to bemoan his inability to pass gun control legislation. “We’re the only country in the world where this happens and it happens once a week,” Obama said. Obama went on to refute any link between mass shootings and mental health as well, instead blaming the ability of Americans to collect ammunition. “It’s not the only country that has psychosis, and yet we kill each other in these mass shootings at rates that are exponentially higher than anyplace else,” Obama said. ” What’s the difference? The difference is these guys can stack up a bunch of ammunition in their houses.” Invoking his role as parent, Obama also pushed the notion that American gun owners are collectively responsible for mass shootings. “This country has to do a lot of soul searching,” Obama said. “This is becoming the norm. And we take it for granted in ways that, as a parent, are terrifying to me.” The President even went as far as praising Australia’s gun confiscation program, claiming that “very severe” gun laws have helped the country. “Couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown,” Obama said. “And Australia just said, well, that’s it, we’re not doing, we’re not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they haven’t had a mass shooting since.”

21.
Obamacare’s Medicare ‘Reforms’ Result in Little Savings

. Promoted as a way to move away from an outdated payment structure in Medicare, Accountable Care Organizations were expected to deliver better care at lower costs. But, two years later, like many of Obamacare’s promised savings, this experiment is falling short. As part of the “Medicare Shared Savings” program under Obamacare, ACOs join together doctors and hospitals to manage the care of Medicare beneficiaries. If an ACO can lower spending and meet performance and quality standards, the providers share in the savings with the Medicare program.

22.
Joe Biden: U.S. needs ‘constant, unrelenting stream’ of immigrants

. Vice President Joseph R. Biden told a National Association of Manufacturers’ crowd this week that what the United States needed was more, not fewer, immigrants. Specifically, he called for a “constant, unrelenting stream” of new immigrants — “not dribbling [but] significant flows,” to bolster the national economy,

23.
Obama Midwifes The Birth Of The Islamic Caliphate

. From Syria to Iraq to Afghanistan to Pakistan, the jihadist dream of a caliphate stretching from the Atlantic to the Himalayas is taking shape. It’s aided by a feckless foreign policy not seen since Neville Chamberlain. As President Obama learns about it in the newspapers, the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is dismembering Iraq, adding Saddam Hussein’s birthplace of Tikrit to the list of cities once liberated by the U.S. that are now flying jihadist flags. The war on terrorism is over all right, and Obama lost it.

24.
Obama To Let Feds Trawl Personal Financial Data For ‘Crimes’

. Big Brother: The Obama regime plans to let law enforcement agencies sift through Americans’ most sensitive private financial information once it collects it as part of a vast new database. Your privacy is under threat. It was bad enough that the proposed National Mortgage Database Project could expose millions of Americans to identity theft, hacking and fraud. Now we learn it could also expose them to prosecution. Created and maintained jointly by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the database will store vast amounts of personally identifiable information, as well as extremely sensitive personal and financial information that even the IRS doesn’t collect.

25.
Expert says EPA regulations are gigantic ‘transfer of wealth’

. New regulations released last week by the Environmental Protection Agency governing greenhouse gas emissions from power plants could be one of the largest transfers of wealth in history. Jason Hayes, the assistant director of the American Coal Council, said the bill for climate change is being handed to the U.S. ratepayer as developing nations like China and India increase their greenhouse gas emissions in the face of U.S. cuts. China and India are two of the nations Hayes said are benefiting from U.S. policies on energy. “Essentially, it’s a gigantic transfer of wealth to the developing world,” Hayes said. “They considered it to be immoral to not raise themselves up out of poverty. They said you can’t ask us not to do that.”

Forget the Unemployment Rate – Look at the Labor Force Participation

. The American public tends to think that a declining unemployment rate means that more people are finding jobs. This is not necessarily the case. It can also mean and does currently mean that: 1) unemployed people have become so frustrated with their fruitless job search that they have given up and are no longer counted in the statistics reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics; and 2) people have found jobs but these jobs are part-time or a step-down from the jobs they lost. In other words, they are under-employed. The Labor Department is aware of these two possibilities and even collects data on them. These data are used to produce what the Bureau of Labor Statistics calls the U6 unemployment rate. While President Obama proudly extols the nation’s 6.7 percent unemployment rate, he studiously avoids revealing that the U6 unemployment rate is more than 14 percent (I think it actually exceeds 20 percent).

1 in 8 American Men Between Ages 25-54 Are Not Working

. “There are currently 61.1 million American men in their prime working years, age 25–54. A staggering 1 in 8 such men are not in the labor force at all, meaning they are neither working nor looking for work. This is an all-time high dating back to when records were first kept in 1955. An additional 2.9 million men are in the labor force but not employed (i.e., they would work if they could find a job). A total of 10.2 million individuals in this cohort, therefore, are not holding jobs in the U.S. economy today. There are also nearly 3 million more men in this age group not working today than there were before the recession began,” the Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee claim.

Edward Snowden Censored Segment: “We Had All Info Needed To Detect 9/11 Plot

. In an unaired clip of NBC News’ interview with Edward Snowden, he explains that mass surveillance isn’t making us safer and is just taking our rights and privacy away. “I take the threat of terrorism seriously, and I think we all do. I think it’s really disingenuous for the government to invoke and sort of scandalize our memories to sort of exploit national trauma that we all suffered together and worked so hard to come through to justify programs that have never been shown to keep us safe, but cost us liberties and freedoms that we don’t need to give up and that our Constitution says we should not give up.” In the allegedly censored clip, Snowden also reveals that the U.S. had all of the intelligence regarding the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 but we unable to connect the dots. “You know this is a key question that the 9/11 commission considered, and what they found in the postmortem when they looked at all the classified intelligence from all the different intelligence agencies, they found that we had all of the information we needed as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States, to detect this plot,” Snowden said. “We actually had records of the phone calls from the United States and out. The CIA knew who these guys were. The problem was not that we weren’t collecting information, it wasn’t that we didn’t have enough dots, it wasn’t that we didn’t have a haystack, it was that we did not understand the haystack that we had.”

States Move To Blunt Obama Carbon Plan

. As President Barack Obama prepares to announce tougher new air quality standards, lawmakers in several states already are trying to blunt the impact on aging coal-fired power plants that feed electricity to millions of consumers. It remains to be seen whether new measures passed by the states will amount to mere political symbolism or actually temper what’s expected to be an aggressive federal effort to reduce the country’s reliance on coal. But either way, states likely will play a pivotal role, because federal clean air laws leave it up to each state to come up its own plan for complying with the emission guidelines. Without waiting to see what Obama proposes, governors in Kansas, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia have signed laws directing their environmental agencies to develop their own carbon emission plans that consider the costs of compliance at individual power plants. Similar measures recently passed in Missouri and are pending in the Louisiana and Ohio legislatures.

NSA steps up digital image harvesting to feed its facial recognition program

. The National Security Agency is, through its global surveillance program, increasingly gathering electronic images for its facial-recognition program, according to documents obtained by The New York Times. The spy agency has relied more on facial-recognition technology in the past four years as a result of new software that can process the flood of digital communications such as emails, text messages and even video conferences, according to the documents obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

TEN Terrorists for One Traitor: The Prisoner Release You Didn’t Hear About

. Back in August of 2013 there was a release of 5 Guantanamo detainees as a good will gesture to the Taliban. In other words, they got five of their people back and we got the right to open peace talks with them. Do you find that the least bit submissive? It was not widely reported, because compared to the news of that time it seemed relatively insignificant.

Tea Party hits Reid with ethics charge over Koch brothers

. Tea Party Patriots has filed a complaint against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) with the Senate Ethics Committee to protest his repeated attacks against Charles and David Koch. Jenny Beth Martin, the co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, filed the complaint, charging Reid with “unlawfully and unethically targeting private citizens.” The complaint further states that Reid “has misused Senate staff or resources to engage in partisan campaign activity in violation of federal laws and Senate rules.”

Are you ready for the government war on booze?

. Everything old is new again in the era of expanding government regulations, so why limit yourself to only trying new things? Let’s dredge up some golden oldies and take them out for a fresh spin. This seems to be part of the thinking of Reihan Salam, writing at Salon this week. As far as a new war on alcohol is concerned, Salam isn’t calling for a renewal of prohibition… we tried that before. But he will settle for just taxing it out of this world.

DHS Stonewalls Congress on ‘Hands Off’ Permitting Those with Terror Ties into U.S.

. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is refusing to answer Congress’ questions about the existence of a secret terrorist “hands off” list that is said to have permitted individuals with terrorist ties easy entrance into the United States. The existence of the hands-off list was first publicized earlier this month by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), who released a cache of internal DHS emails detailing the list’s existence and a discussion about permitting an alleged member of the Muslim Brotherhood to enter the United States.

The Police State we’ve all feared but never thought would happen in America is already here

. Everyone these days is talking about the United States of America “becoming a police state,” but it’s already happened. In this new era of supposed “tolerance and understanding,” an individual can now be either fined, jailed or publicly ostracized for pursuing their right to free speech, or even their private thoughts, or personal beliefs. If you make a stupid movie that “offends” someone in a country 5000 miles away (or a certain religion, not Christianity though), you can be thrown in jail and never heard from again. If you have a telephone conversation where you express your private beliefs about race, you can be publicly vilified, fined (not by a civil authority), banned from attending a basketball game and even FORCED to sell your private property. All this can be and has already been done without even involving the local civil authorities. Just rat somebody out that you don’t like and sit back and watch the fireworks.

Expert: Pinellas light rail plan an expensive, low capacity mistake

. High costs and low passenger capacity. That’s the diagnosis one transit expert has of Pinellas County’s $1.7 billion light rail project, a plan that depends on raising the local sales tax to the highest rate in Florida.

15.
Holder Revives Domestic Terror Panel

. Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday announced the reestablishment of a committee to fight terror threats posed by groups within U.S. borders. The Justice Department’s Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee was originally empaneled by then-Attorney General Janet Reno almost two decades ago in response to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. But the panel was disbanded after the 9/11 attacks led the government to focus its attention on threats overseas. Holder maintained that the United States remains vigilant against foreign terror groups, including al Qaeda affiliates in Yemen and al-Shabaab in Somalia.

The Twenty Fifth Amendment & Barack Obama’s Mental Illness

. Every person in Congress, the Obama administration and the alphabet agency department heads all have a mental disorder. The mental disorders vary, but it is evident in their very actions these people epitomize the phrase, “the patients are running the asylum.” The main mental disorder coming from the piece of straw occupying the Oval Office is none other than mythomania or psuedological fanstastica. Those are fancy names for habitual pathological liars. According to much of the literature, this disorder, also known as Pathological Lying Disorder, is not included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). However, many psychiatrists and psychologists consider this problem a distinct mental disorder. While mythomania can be a symptom of other mental illnesses, the defining characteristic of mythomania as a separate mental illness is the person cannot help lying even when the lie causes harm. This type of lying is more than a habit, as in compulsive lying, or a “white lie” told to spare someone’s feelings. It is a regular type of lying, without compunction, to achieve a desired goal or outcome.

17.
Feds Treated Black Friday Boycott As Terrorist Threat

. Newly revealed documents obtained by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund show that the federal government treats consumer boycotts and anti-Black Friday activism as a terrorist threat. A leaked email reveals that Tom Wilkins, who serves as Executive Director of the Intelligence Fusion Division, Homeland Security Bureau, and is on the FBI-WFO Joint Terrorism Task Force, directed staff at the Washington DC fusion center to create a document notifying District Commanders of the “potential threat” posed by groups that planned to “disrupt retail activity” on Black Friday in 2011.

Can we Talk? Politically Correct Liberals are Intellectual Cowards

. Liberals have a love-hate relationship with the concept of free speech. They love it when it works on their behalf, but they hate it when it applies to people who disagree with them. To a liberal, free speech means the freedom to say what they want you to say and nothing else. Agree with a liberal and you will enjoy unimpeded free speech. Disagree with a liberal and you will wonder what ever happened to free speech. Because of the broad-based expectation of free speech by American society, liberals have had to come up with another way to suppress speech that runs counter to their nefarious agenda. That tactic is political correctness, a concept that is indeed political but hardly correct.

19.
America In Retreat As Russia Advances

. The U.S. hands over control of its only central Asia base to Russia’s old ally, Kyrgyzstan, continuing our retreat from the world stage as Vladimir Putin patiently reassembles the “evil empire.” In something of an ironic trip, President Obama is in Poland, one of the countries he betrayed in 2009, along with the Czech Republic, by scuttling missile-defense plans in Europe to celebrate the country’s 25th anniversary of its break from communism.

20.
Psychologist worries ‘irrational, erratic’ behavior may seriously indicate Obama is not sane

. Psychologist Dr. Gina Loudon told host Lou Dobbs that she is “very, very concerned” about President Obama’s mental stability Tuesday on Fox Biz. I am very, very concerned about the mental stability of this President at this point. Some of his behavior seems irrational to me. It seems beyond that of just a typical narcissistic, arrogant, sort of, ‘I’m a leader of a big country and I feel tyrannical at the moment’ kind of attitude. It really seems to me like this President is demonstrating behavior that is not only anti-American, but irrational and erratic and perhaps not exactly what we might want to deem sane.

Poverty Up 30.5% for Americans 18 to 64 Since LBJ Declared War on Poverty

. The percentage of 18- to 64-year olds who live below the poverty level has increased 30.5% since 1966, two years after Lyndon Johnson declared the War on Poverty, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau. “We have declared unconditional war on poverty. Our objective is total victory. I believe that 30 years from now Americans will look back upon these 1960s as the time of the great American Breakthrough toward the victory of prosperity over poverty,” said then-President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

Why Is Obama Stockpiling Your Personal Financial Records?

. Republicans are scratching their heads over the Obama regime’s privacy-invading “National Mortgage Database Project.” What’s it for? That’s easy: redistribution of wealth. In an unprecedented federal intrusion, the president’s most radical financial regulators — Mel Watt of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and Richard Cordray of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — are creating a massive discrimination database on as many as 230 million Americans. It will encompass a mortgage holder’s entire credit history — including credit scores and account balances — and all credit lines, from credit cards to student and car loans.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin Signs Bill to Repeal, Replace Common Core Standards

. Gov. Mary Fallin (R) of Oklahoma has signed a bill that will repeal the Common Core education standards in her state and replace them with standards to be developed by the state of Oklahoma. The new standards must be proven to be sufficiently unlike the Common Core standards. Fallin signed HB 3399, which passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. The new law repeals the adoption of the Common Core standards and directs the State Board of Education to create new, more rigorous standards by August of 2016.

Surprise! The Government Now Can’t Even Guess How Much Obamacare Will Ultimately Cost

. It’s no secret Obamacare is unaffordable. But now we also know that even the Congressional Budget Office can’t predict how much more this disastrous law will cost. According to a footnote from a Congressional Budget Office report released in April but reported this week by Roll Call, the law’s true costs and long-term fiscal impact are simply impossible to track.

LBJ’s Great Society Changed America for the Worse

. Fifty years ago last Thursday, at the University of Michigan, Johnson had proposed legislating into existence a Great Society. It would end poverty and racial injustice, “but that is just the beginning.” It would “rebuild the entire urban United States” while fending off “boredom and restlessness,” slaking “the hunger for community” and enhancing “the meaning of our lives” — all by assembling “the best thought and the broadest knowledge.” In 1964, 76% of Americans trusted government to do the right thing “just about always or most of the time”; today, 19% do. The former number is one reason Johnson did so much; the latter is one consequence of his doing so.

2.
More e-mails…another thorn in Obama’s side

. And so the clouds of Benghazi gather yet again over the White House as e-mails have surfaced showing that Barack HUSSEIN Obama…this most traitorous of men…contacted YouTube about the infamous ‘Innocence of Muslims’ video while the attacks at Benghazi were ongoing. This is serious stuff folks as it shows that while Obama did NOT send troops to help our people under attack at the mission…saying there was NOT enough time to save them (and how did he know the time frame while the attack was ongoing unless he helped plan it)…but he did have time to call YouTube and lay the foundation for the LIE that the attack was caused by said video.

3.
Confidential source reveals to me what really happened in Benghazi

. Today as I returned from Detroit, I had a moment that I truly felt was God sent, as I don’t believe in coincidences. It happened on one of my flights, and it was two hours I will never forget. I was seated beside someone who personally knew one of the men who was there on the roof in Benghazi. This person was excited to share with me the “ground truth” of what happened September 11, 2012. My seat mate drew schematics to orient me to the “time and spacing” and the direction of the attack. I learned about the repeated orders to the men at the CIA annex to stand down and do nothing — thank God two of them, Glenn Doherty and Ty Woods, lived up to their code of honor and ran to the sound of the guns, resulting in their loss of life — but the preservation of life for others, their fellow Americans. I learned about the proximity of the staging area of the attack to the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, and the attackers were indeed Ansar al-Sharia, a group affiliated with al-Qaida. I came to understand why Ambassador Chris Stevens was there in the first place and that he had in fact requested better security but was denied – the question is, by whom? And I learned that the Martyrs of 17 February Brigade were in charge of security and were the ones who opened the gates, then fled. I learned there are those who are being threatened with their pensions being cut off if they come forth to speak. And I learned, as I presumed, that there was a covert weapons scheme going on in Libya, Benghazi. We had been supplying radical Islamists with weapons against Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi, effectively supplying the enemy and destabilizing that country. And it seems that there was a CIA weapons buy-back program, the aim of which was to ship the retrieved weapons out of Libya through Turkey, and to the Islamist forces in Syria.

4.
Nate Silver Is Half Right About the Tea Party

. The resounding victory that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell scored over “tea party” businessman Matt Bevin this past week has thrown the media into a tizzy. Is the “tea party” dead? Did the GOP establishment kill it? Or did the GOP subsume the tea party, taking its candidates, its issues, and its ideology for the GOP? What is the tea party, exactly? That’s not so clear. There are a constellation of groups, like Tea Party Patriots, FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity, who sometimes associate themselves with the movement or are associated with it. But their agendas can range from libertarian to populist and do not always align. As in Missouri, they often do not endorse the same candidate. Nor do they always endorse the candidate who self-identifies as member of the tea party.

5.
Oil companies say new federal regulations on Southwest bird have halted drilling in Kansas

. Oil companies say a weeks-old Obama administration ruling that protects a Southwestern prairie bird has already halted oil-drilling operations in Kansas and is costing the U.S. economy tens of millions of dollars, as a GOP congressmen suggests the move is another job-killing attack on fossil fuel.

6.
Boston Globe, La Times Declare Obama Incompetent

. The scandal at the Veteran’s Administration is rocking the Obama regime and may yet be one of the worst scandals of the Obama era. Already two major newspapers are starting to accuse the Obama administration of utter incompetence.

7.
EPA’s next target in fight against climate change: cooking stoves

. The Obama administration’s war on climate change may soon be moving inside the kitchen. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy is set to unveil on Tuesday six federal grants to universities to fund research on clean cookstove technology. The announcement will put the EPA’s resources squarely behind a United Nations’ quest for cleaner burning stoves and an end to deadly cooking pollution.

8.
WH rules employers can’t dump workers into health care exchanges

. It figures the Obama administration would wait for a three-day weekend to announce its latest executive rule change to Obamacare (aka the “law of the land”). This one is a doozy. The implications are so far-reaching that the official White House newspaper, the New York Times, buried the story by Robert Pear on page A12 of the New York edition. Here’s the gist of it: Many employers had thought they could shift health costs to the government by sending their employees to a health insurance exchange with a tax-free contribution of cash to help pay premiums, but the Obama administration has squelched the idea in a new ruling. Such arrangements do not satisfy the health care law, the administration said, and employers may be subject to a tax penalty of $100 a day — or $36,500 a year — for each employee who goes into the individual marketplace. Diverting employees into established alternative insurance policies does “not satisfy the health care law”? How so, Mr. President? That action is precisely in keeping with the law that you signed on March 23, 2010. The out-clause for employers that you are now trying to wriggle out of was added expressly to give employers a choice.

9.
The Size Of The Derivatives Bubble Hanging Over The Global Economy Hits A Record High

. The global derivatives bubble is now 20 percent bigger than it was just before the last great financial crisis struck in 2008. It is a financial bubble far larger than anything the world has ever seen, and when it finally bursts it is going to be a complete and utter nightmare for the financial system of the planet. According to the Bank for International Settlements, the total notional value of derivatives contracts around the world has ballooned to an astounding 710 trillion dollars ($710,000,000,000,000). Other estimates put the grand total well over a quadrillion dollars. If that sounds like a lot of money, that is because it is. For example, U.S. GDP is projected to be in the neighborhood of around 17 trillion dollars for 2014. So 710 trillion dollars is an amount of money that is almost incomprehensible. Instead of actually doing something about the insanely reckless behavior of the big banks, our leaders have allowed the derivatives bubble and these banks to get larger than ever. In fact, as I have written about previously, the big Wall Street banks are collectively 37 percent larger than they were just prior to the last recession. “Too big to fail” is a far more massive problem than it was the last time around, and at some point this derivatives bubble is going to burst and start taking those banks down. When that day arrives, we are going to be facing a crisis that is going to make 2008 look like a Sunday picnic.

10.
The Smallest Victims of Obama’s Immigration Policy

. There has been a lot of talk from the Obama administration about having more “humane” immigration policies — but the sad fact is that on President Obama’s watch, one of the most inhumane realities of illegal immigration has skyrocketed. Children are crossing the border – and they’re doing it without their parents. The number of minor children crossing or attempting to cross the U.S. southern border unaccompanied by a parent or other adult relative has exploded from 6,560 in 2011 to an estimated 60,000 for fiscal year 2014. Border patrol agents in South Texas reported over 1,000 such children were apprehended by officials earlier this month, including a 3-year-old boy from Honduras.

11.
Obama Administration Seeks Race-Based Government In Hawaii

. President Barack Obama’s administration has quietly suggested it is willing to create a two-tier race-based legal system in Hawaii, where one set of taxes, spending and law enforcement will govern one race, and the second set of laws will govern every other race. The diversity proposal is portrayed as an effort to create a separate in-state government for people who are “native Hawaiians.” If Obama succeeds, “what’s to prevent creating similar [self-governing racial] groups out of say, Cajuns, or Orthodox Jews or Amish?” said Gail Heriot, a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

12.
Obama Phones Become Obama Net – FCC To Create Fund To Subsidize High Speed Internet

. The FCC got a shot in its arm when the federal court on Friday upheld the FCC decision to convert the $4.5 billion program which paid for telephone service in rural areas into a fund which will subsidize high-speed Internet service in high-cost areas.

13.
Blame Socialism, Not Shinseki

. The VA problem is not Shinseki; it’s socialism. The Veterans Affairs health care system is completely government run. It is a pure single-payer program. National Review editor Rich Lowry calls it “an island of socialism in American health care.” He is right. I’ve been arguing this all week.

14.
Why Does Washington Still Suffer From Fatal Conceit Of Central Planning?

. F.A. Hayek won the Nobel prize in economics in part because of his prescient warning about what he called “the fatal conceit,” of intellectuals, who tend to believe that they are capable of centrally planning life for everyone. The bankruptcy of that model was evident with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the move toward capitalism in China, and the tragic deprivation in places like Cuba and North Korea. So why does Washington keep thinking that it can micromanage entire industries?

15.
Justice dept. Chokes out ‘undesirable’ businesses

. Writing at USA Today, Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit describes “Operation Choke Point,” a Justice Department program that might be one of the most disturbing tales of abused power in this whole “Tales From the Crypt of Liberty” Administration. This might not be as egregious as illegally rewriting laws on the fly to help the Democrat Party survive ObamaCare, but it’s insidious: Where do we go to vote against the Commissar of Undesirable Businesses, if we decide we disagree with his or her judgments… once we penetrate the veil of secrecy and discover those judgments have been rendered?

16.
Tea Party Surges In Texas, Grassroots Focus Could Target Congressional Race In Florida

. Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) could be looked upon as the new political “kingmaker” as more and more of tea party and Ted Cruz supported candidates, like Nebraska’s Ben Sasse are winning their respective primary elections over incumbent and establishment Republican rivals. Tuesday’s primary election in Texas saw several more Cruz-backed candidates win the GOP nomination over their establishment rivals. While Cruz’s picks appear to be winning their races, and the tea party seems to be surging, will this trend continue in other grassroots versus establishment primary races around the country?

17.
Obama’s Bid for U.N. Secretary-General Has Begun

. It is commonly observed that President Obama never started governing because he never stopped campaigning. He campaigned in his West Point speech all right — for United Nations secretary-general. We’ve got a president who has unblushingly told us he’s “a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” knows “more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors” and is “a better political director than my political director.” Not to mention that “like any politician at this level, I’ve got a healthy ego.” Uh, no kidding. An intellect that enormous must feel confined by merely leading the free world (or, more accurately, not leading). Such boundless cerebral prowess deserves a real challenge, such as running the whole world. The president obviously agrees; his address to cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on Wednesday sounded much like the launch of a campaign for still-higher office: presiding over the hopelessly corrupt, tyrant-dominated United Nations.

18.
Has The Next Recession Already Begun For America’s Middle Class?

. Has the next major economic downturn already started? The way that you would answer that question would probably depend on where you live. If you live in New York City, or the suburbs of Washington D.C., or you work for one of the big tech firms in the San Francisco area, you would probably respond to such a question by saying of course not. In those areas, the economy is doing great and prices for high end homes are still booming. But in most of the rest of the nation, evidence continues to mount that the next recession has already begun for the poor and the middle class. As you will read about below, major retailers had an absolutely dreadful start to 2014 and home sales are declining just as they did back in 2007 before the last financial crisis. Meanwhile, the U.S. economy continues to lose more good jobs and 20 percent of all U.S. families do not have a single member that is employed at this point. 2014 is turning out to be eerily similar to 2007 in so many ways, but most people are not paying attention.

19.
Investigation launched into scabies outbreak at Border Patrol station
– B.M.G.
. Diseases can easily pass from one country to the next according to Hidalgo County Health Department director Eddie Olivarez. “Believe it or not we also have illnesses that go from the U.S. south so it’s very fluid both ways,” he said. A skin disease coming into the Rio Grande Valley concerns Chris Cabrera, a spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council. He told Action 4 News about 10-25 percent of undocumented immigrants agents catch have scabies and now agents are concerned for their health and well-being. “A lot of people (are) coming in with the disease, and it seems to be spreading, not just within the McAllen station, but throughout the Valley and to some of our agents,” he said.

20.
Inside the Ring: Memo outlines Obama’s plan to use the military against citizens

. A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans. The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers. The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.

21.
Sectors Dominated By Nonprofits Have Highest Prices

. Before there was ObamaCare, there was runaway price inflation in health care. For example, last summer my wife went to a private clinic to get a simple cortisone injection in her foot. She’d had this done four and a half years earlier. Same clinic, same doctor, same $1 medication, but a very different bill — from $146 in 2009 to $987 in 2013! Why the difference? The for-profit clinic had been purchased by a nonprofit hospital. Surprisingly, the industries that have the most rampant price-inflation problems — health care and higher education — are dominated by nonprofit providers. Could it be that they are just as profit-driven as big, for-profit corporations?

22.
Potato Council Debunks First Lady’s ‘Science’ Claims

. Today, the National Potato Council praised the House for considering a bill to include the potato in its WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) food nutrition (“food stamp”) program. The Council also debunked First Lady Michelle Obama’s claims that including the potato would “override science” and that Americans are already eating enough of them. The Potato Council notes that the First Lady’s science is based on old data – not the latest government reports:

23.
GDP Report Confirms We Now Have a $2 Trillion Obama Growth Deficit

. This morning’s depressing revised calculation of the growth of the economy in the first quarter of 2014 (-1.0 percent) makes it official: The Obama expansion is now $2 trillion short of where we would be if growth in this recovery had matched the Reagan recovery that started in 1982. That is to say the average family would have about $5,000 more income each year to spend if it were not for this slow recovery. The Census Bureau reports that median household income is down by $1,800 since this so-called recovery began. Worse, investment plummeted in the first quarter of 2014 by 11.7 percent from the same period in 2013. That was the biggest decline since the recession ended in 2009. Without investment, businesses can’t grow and wages won’t rise. Capital investment by businesses is a strong leading indicator of future prosperity.

24.
The Federal Reserve Explained in 7 Minutes

. Have you ever caught yourself wondering how nearly every country on earth can be in debt to outside sources? In my world, if I owe a friend $10 and he owes me $5 then I simply give him $5 and we call it “even.” But that’s not how the world of international banking works. If you have a minute, Wikipedia tries to keep an updated National Debt List. Looking at the chart is very eye-opening. Yes America, we are still unfortunately #1 and no one is really challenging our indebtedness. The reason that nearly every nation on earth has external debt is simple. We don’t owe that money to other countries, even though many of those countries “own” our debt. Countries that hold debt are simply like “middle men.” It is all somehow owed to the world banking elite. The elite, of course, would like to keep it that way.

Scientists in cover-up of ‘damaging’ climate view

. Research which heaped doubt on the rate of global warming was deliberately suppressed by scientists because it was “less than helpful” to their cause, it was claimed last night. In an echo of the infamous “Climategate” scandal at the University of East Anglia, one of the world’s top academic journals rejected the work of five experts after a reviewer privately denounced it as “harmful”.

2.
Conspiracy Theorists Vindicated: HAARP Confirmed Weather-manipulation Tool

. The most damning aspersion that can be lobbed against any person, or the exposure of “secret government activity,” overwhelmingly is “Conspiracy Theorist.” That pejorative ‘handle’ is equated with imbecile mind-activity with aspersions often suggested as ‘tin hat wearers’. Well, step aside all you doubters and listen up carefully to what took place in the halls of Congress on May 14, 2014 regarding the weather modification system known as HAARP.

3.
Five Times Obama Officials Expressed Outrage At Their Own Incompetence

. President Obama and members of his administration constantly express rage and anger over events totally within their control. It’s an odd and unsettling fact of American life that so many Americans seem to think that such expressions of frustration should substitute for actual competence. Here, then, are the top five times that Obama officials have expressed outrage, sadness, and anger over actions within their purview:

4.
Obamacare’s penalties on hospital readmissions will kill off the sick and elderly

. If you have an aging parent or other elderly relative who is currently hospitalized with chronic heart or lung disease, the good news is he is coming home. The bad news is that he is likely coming home to die. That’s thanks to a strong disincentive for hospitals to readmit chronically ill Medicare patients under a provision of Obamacare. Called the Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program (Section 3025 of the Affordable Care Act added section 1886(q)), the provision took effect on October 1, 2012 and penalizes hospitals for readmitting patients with one of several high-maintenance conditions — heart failure, heart attack and pneumonia — within 30 days of discharge. Two additional expensive-to-manage illnesses, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and follow-up treatment for coronary bypass surgery, are scheduled to be phased in this year.

5.
2014 Best & Worst States For Business

. In the 10th annual survey of CEOs concerning their views of the best and worst states for business, over 500 CEOs across the U.S. responded, grading states with which they were familiar on measures including tax and regulatory regime, the quality of the workforce, and the quality of the living environment.

6.
Sagebrush Rebellion Redivivus

. For many or maybe even most Americans, reports that a rancher in Clark County, Nevada, was at odds with federal land bureaucrats, that scores of federal lawyers were litigating against him, and that SWAT-garbed and heavily armed federal law-enforcement officers had surrounded his place might have come as a surprise. They might have been even more surprised, in the wake of this standoff—which ended short of deadly escalation thanks in part to negotiations by a local sheriff—to hear that over 50 elected officials from nine Western states had gathered in Utah to discuss a state takeover of a significant portion of federally owned land in the American West. But Westerners—especially rural Westerners who make a living on the federal lands that predominate beyond the hundredth meridian, by logging, mining, ranching, or developing energy resources—were not surprised at all.

. There can be no aspect of your daily life that’s removed from politics. Now you will be monitored by your own children for expressing unapproved opinions. You’d better watch what you say at the dinner table, Mom and Dad.

The Federal Government Hasn’t Improved Education After Trying for 50 Years

. The federal government has been trying to improve educational outcomes for 50 years, but according to a recent study, we have little to show for it — and in some areas, it is getting worse. year marks the 50th anniversary of President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society initiatives, the goal of which was to help low-income Americans move toward self-sufficiency. Among the measures enacted under Johnson’s “War on Poverty” was the first major federal intervention in education: the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. The anniversary adds context to this month’s release of the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP) “Report Card,” which detailed the academic achievement levels of high school seniors. The results weren’t promising – which has been true for the last five years the report card assessed and the last 50 years of federal intervention in education.

10.
D’Souza Plea: Real Crime Is Government Limit on Speech

. First Amendment: So anti-Obama filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza pleads guilty to making illegal campaign contributions. The real crime here, though, is the government deciding how much free speech Americans can exercise. D’Souza, the widely recognized conservative who made “2016: Obama’s America,” the 2012 documentary that took an unfavorable look at the president, has cut a deal with prosecutors, admitting to one count of making an illegal political donation. He would have gone to trial this week had he not agreed to the plea. D’Souza was indicted in January on charges that he had asked friends to donate to a Republican House candidate’s campaign with the promise that he would later reimburse them for their contributions. Clearly, such an effort is an attempt to skirt federal law that allows an individual to give no more than $2,600 to a candidate per election cycle. Why should contributing more than that be a crime? After all, no one’s life, liberty or property is violated in the giving of money to office seekers. And why $2,600? How was it determined that political corruption begins at the $2,601 mark?

11.
Obama’s National Climate Assessment Fails Basic Science

. The Obama administration’s National Climate Assessment fails miserably on even the most basic science, Heartland Institute senior fellow Peter Ferrara explains on Forbes.com.

12.
Federal ‘Biosurveillance’ Plan Seeking Direct Access to Americans’ Private Medical Records

. The federal government is piecing together a sweeping national “biosurveillance” system that will give bureaucrats near real-time access to Americans’ private medical information in the name of national security, according to Twila Brase, a public health nurse and co-founder of the Citizens Council for Health Freedom. The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response is currently seeking public comment on a 52-page draft of the proposed “National Health Security Strategy 2015-2018” (NHSS).

13.
Some People Will Have to Pay Back Their Obamacare Subsidies

. Obamacare offers subsidies to help pay for health insurance – if you are buying insurance through the federal exchange and your income qualifies. if a person’s income fluctuates, which happens more frequently than many realize, the subsidy amount will change from month to month. Thus, when it comes time to file taxes in April, the amount of subsidy received over the past year must be reconciled with the final calculation of the total subsidy for which the individual was eligible—based on actual income for the entire tax year. So if you qualify for more subsidy help than you receive during the year, you’ll get a tax refund. But if you were given more subsidy than your income qualifies you for, you will be required to repay the excess subsidy.

14.
Mass Fish Deaths: Millions Have Been Found Dead All Over The World In The Past Month

. Millions of fish are suddenly dying all over the planet. In fact, there have been dozens of mass fish death events reported in the past month alone. So why is this happening? Why are fish dying in unprecedented numbers all over the world? When more than six tons of fish died in Marina Del Ray over the weekend, it made headlines all over the United States. But the truth is that what just happened off the southern California coast is just the tip of the iceberg. In 2014, mass fish die-offs have pretty much become a daily event globally. Individually, each event could perhaps be dismissed as an anomaly, but as you will see below when they are all put together into one list it truly is rather stunning. So is there a reason why so many fish are dying? Is there something that connects these mass fish death events? Has something about our environment changed? The following are just a few examples of the mass fish death reports that have been coming in day after day from all over the globe…

15.
27 Huge Red Flags For The U.S. Economy

. If you believe that the U.S. economy is heading in the right direction, you really need to read this article. As we look toward the second half of 2014, there are economic red flags all over the place. Industrial production is down. Home sales are way down. Retail stores are closing at the fastest pace since the collapse of Lehman Brothers. U.S. household debt is up substantially, and in 20 percent of all U.S. families everyone is unemployed. In so many ways, what we are witnessing right now is so similar to what we experienced during the build up to the last great financial crisis. We are making so many of the very same mistakes that we made the last time, and yet our “leaders” seem completely oblivious to what is happening. But the warning signs are very clear. All you have to do is open your eyes and look at them. The following are 27 huge red flags for the U.S. economy…

16.
VA Supervisor: Older Veterans Should Be “Shot In the Head” To Save Money

. A Veterans Affairs whistleblower has exclusively revealed to Infowars that the facility at which he works has engaged in a of cover-up in response to the VA hospital scandal, while also relating the story of how one supervisor expressed his desire to see older veterans “taken outside and shot in the head.”

17.
Local officials blast move by Obama to set aside 500,000 acres in NM

. Local officials in New Mexico warn a move by the Obama administration to designate nearly a half-million acres as a national monument could open up a crime corridor making it easier for illegal immigrants to cross the border and for drug cartels to operate undetected.

18.
Tax Chauvinism: Who Cares Where a Firm is Incorporated?

. Following the recent offer by U.S drugmaker Pfizer to acquire British pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca, congressional Democrats are proposing new limits on the ability of U.S.-based firms to establish foreign residence and thus cut their U.S. corporate tax bill. Even before this latest flap, the Obama Administration proposed curbs on this practice, known as an inversion. But why does it matter where a multinational corporation is headquartered? Certainly, it would affect U.S. tax receipts. By some estimates, Pfizer alone would pay $1.4 billion less in annual taxes by moving its corporate residence to London—though its offer has so far been spurned. But beyond the revenue question, should we really care? After all, changing the corporate address of a firm has no real economic impact. There is no reason to believe the company would move production offshore if it shifts the address of its headquarters. After all, firms will produce goods and services wherever it is most cost-effective, after figuring regulatory, labor, and transportation costs.

19.
Is The Tea Party Dead?

. Do you remember when the pundits were talking about how the Tea Party movement was going to transform American politics? Do you remember when establishment Republicans in Congress were scared to death of having Tea Party challengers come after their seats? Well, those days are over. In primary after primary in 2014, it has become abundantly clear that the establishment is in full control of the Republican Party once again. And recent polling data also supports the theory that the Tea Party movement is losing steam. Back in 2010, 31 percent of all Americans supported the Tea Party. Today, an all-time low 15 percent of all Americans do. So is the Tea Party dead? Perhaps not yet, but without a doubt it is on the ropes.

20.
Primary Aftermath

. The first full-fledged primary night with the Republican Party establishment and its liberty-loving base going head-to-head is now in the books. And there’s no spinning it – it was a bad night for the good guys. Daniel Horowitz at Red State has a good summary of what happened: Kentucky: Horowitz notes Matt Bevin did very well in GOP strongholds in the northern part of the state, where Ditch McConnell needs a large turnout to win this fall. Thus, he is going to have to reach out to Bevin’s base. McConnell’s re-elect numbers are probably the worst for any incumbent Republican in a very pro-GOP cycle. For example, over 90,000 more people voted in Kentucky’s uncontested Democrat primary than voted in the hotly-contested Republican primary McConnell won. That is a bad sign for McConnell this fall. As is the the fact he got the lowest percentage of the vote in a primary of any Kentucky incumbent U.S. Senator since 1938.

21.
CFPB Finally Yields, Opens Secret Meetings To Public

. The ultrasecretive Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says it will end its closed-door meeting policy and open talks with its radical advisers to the public starting next month. While a victory for transparency, the move doesn’t go far enough. “Starting with our June 18 meeting” in Reno, Nev., it added, “the public may attend (or watch online) the full Consumer Advisory Board and council meetings, the same way most other agencies allow under the Federal Advisory Committee Act.”

22.
Japan Begins Purposely Dumping 100s of Tons of Radioactive Water From Fukushima Into The Pacific

. How do you get rid of hundreds of tons of highly radioactive water? You dump it into the Pacific Ocean of course! In Japan, the Tokyo Electric Power Co. has made the “painful decision” to begin purposely dumping massive amounts of radioactive water currently being stored at the destroyed Fukushima nuclear facility directly into the Pacific. This is being done even though water radiation levels near Fukushima spiked to a brand new all-time record high just a few days ago. The radioactive material that is being released will enter our food chain and will potentially stay with us for decades to come. Fukushima is an environmental nightmare that never seems to end, but the mainstream media in the United States decided to pretty much stop talking about it long ago. So don’t expect the big news networks to make a big deal out of the fact that Japan is choosing to use the Pacific Ocean as a toilet for their nuclear waste. But even though they aren’t talking about it, that doesn’t mean that radioactive material from Fukushima is not seriously affecting the health of millions of people all over the planet.

23.
Congress reaffirms indefinite detention of Americans under NDAA

. The US House of Representatives approved an annual defense spending bill early Thursday after rejecting a proposed amendment that would have prevented the United States government from indefinitely detaining American citizens.

24.
Don’t be fooled: McConnell’s victory in Kentucky is also a Tea Party win

. The top Senate Republican beat his conservative primary opponent, but it came at a price for the GOP. Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell’s primary victory on Tuesday night in Kentucky will undoubtedly tempt many a pundit to write the Tea Party’s eulogy. But the Tea Party will achieve in electoral death what it could never achieve in life: lasting control of the GOP agenda. McConnell won because he’s got a familiar name, a lot of money and the kind of political clout that makes up for occasional lapses from orthodoxy. That might not be enough next time – as a local Kentucky Republican leader told the National Journal last week, the state party is “still McConnell’s Republican Party, but it’s edging toward being Rand [Paul]’s Republican Party”. But, it was enough to keep it from being challenger Matt Bevin’s Republican party – especially after his unforced errors and willingness to prize ideological purity over more pragmatic concerns (like the $2bn in pork McConnell brought home for agreeing to end the government shutdown).

1.
Davy Crockett’s Lesson For Liberals

. Liberal advocates of big government view your money as their money. Since the United States Congress was first established there have been Congressmen who want to spend your money on their projects. In fact, the authority to spend other people’s money has long been too great a temptation for many who serve in Congress; especially those of the liberal persuasion. But one Congressman learned the hard way that spending other people’s money can backfire on an elected official. Congressman Davy Crockett learned this lesson many years ago just in time to save his seat in Congress.

2.
Obama Caught Between A Big Labor Rock, And A Solar Panel Hard Place

. One of the problems with Barack Obama’s brand of ultra-divisive crony politics is that eventually you come to a moment where two of your cronies strongly disagree with each other, and you’ve got to pick which one to bestow your royal favor upon. In this case, it’s labor unions versus “green energy,” as Obama infuriated labor unions by congratulating their arch-enemy Wal-Mart for making a big commitment to solar panels.

3.
Lieutenant Colonel, Retired, Allen B. West considering run for President

. Many are asking me to consider a huge undertaking. If God had not placed a challenge before me and closed one door, perhaps a new mission would not be possible. Here I am, traveling along the same path I took in December 2003. I am traveling with my “Band of Brothers” and meeting my beloved countrymen and women along the way, sharing my perspectives as well. A new door has opened and faithfully I walked through it.

4.
White House’s $17 billion helicopter fleet

. The Pentagon has awarded a contract to begin development of the most expensive helicopters ever made. Each helicopter will probably cost at least $400 million. The entire project, to build at least 23 helicopters, has been estimated to eventually cost between $10 billion to $17 billion. By comparison, the project could pay the combined defense budgets of Finland, Norway, and Sweden for one year ($16.9 billion).

5.
Policing for Profit? Lawmakers, advocates raise alarm at growing gov’t power to seize property

. Motel owner Russell Caswell wasn’t expecting to find himself at the center of a national controversy when FBI agents came knocking on his door. They said they wanted his Tewksbury, Mass., business – and the land it was on – because they suspected it was a hotbed for drug-dealing and prostitution. The agents, who were working with state and local authorities, told a disbelieving Caswell they had the right to take the property, valued at as much as $1.5 million, through a legal process known as civil forfeiture. Caswell, 70, fought back, and the case turned into one of the nation’s most contentious civil forfeiture fights ever – and one that legal experts say sheds light on a little-known practice that, when abused, is tantamount to policing for profit.

6.
400 US mercenaries ‘deployed on ground’ in Ukraine military op

. About 400 elite mercenaries from the notorious US private security firm Academi (formerly Blackwater) are taking part in the Ukrainian military operation against anti-government protesters in southeastern regions of the country, German media reports. The Bild am Sonntag newspaper, citing a source in intelligence circles, wrote Sunday that Academi employees are involved in the Kiev military crackdown on pro-autonomy activists in near the town of Slavyansk, in the Donetsk region.

7.
The Red Line and the Rat Line

. The Manipulation of the American Military by the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2011 Barack Obama led an allied military intervention in Libya without consulting the US Congress. Last August, after the sarin attack on the Damascus suburb of Ghouta, he was ready to launch an allied air strike, this time to punish the Syrian government for allegedly crossing the ‘red line’ he had set in 2012 on the use of chemical weapons.* Then with less than two days to go before the planned strike, he announced that he would seek congressional approval for the intervention. The strike was postponed as Congress prepared for hearings, and subsequently cancelled when Obama accepted Assad’s offer to relinquish his chemical arsenal in a deal brokered by Russia. Why did Obama delay and then relent on Syria when he was not shy about rushing into Libya? The answer lies in a clash between those in the administration who were committed to enforcing the red line, and military leaders who thought that going to war was both unjustified and potentially disastrous.

8.
Dept. Of Education erects obstacles to keep states in common core

. When someone hears bureaucratic terms like “compliance, mandates and penalties,” they might think of the EPA, the IRS, or these days, the Department of Health and Human Services. But another federal government department is fast adopting the language of strict and onerous regulation. Annoyed that Indiana wants to extricate themselves from the Common Core education standards, the U.S. Department of Education is erecting procedural obstacles to make this as difficult possible. At stake for Hoosiers is $200 million in federal education funds. The Obama Administration is using “No Child Left Behind” waivers to warn Indiana officials of the penalties they face for non-compliance with Common Core. In a political scheme that could only be hatched in Washington, one federal program enacted under George W. Bush and widely derided for undermining local school authority, is pitted against another federal program even more derided for the same reasons.

9.
Blind Squirrel Finds a Supreme Court Nut

. Article III, Section 2, of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress the authority to “check” judicial activism, up to and including when justices illegitimately legislate from the highest bench in the land: “[T]he Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.” That’s huge. Unfortunately, to date, Congress has been either unwilling or unable to enact such regulations.

10.
DHS Emails Reveal U.S. May Have Terrorist “Hands Off” List

. The Obama administration appears to have a terrorist “hands off” list that permits individuals with extremist ties to enter the country, according to internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents obtained by a United States Senator. It’s unimaginable that any government would do this, but it seems like the Obama administration is constantly breaking new ground. The disturbing details of this secret initiative were made public this week by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, who has obtained DHS electronic mail discussing what could be a terrorist “hands off” list. The exchange includes a 2012 email chain between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) asking whether to admit an individual with ties to various terrorist groups. The individual had scheduled an upcoming flight into the U.S., according to an announcement issued by the senator.

11.
Washington Post calls for Sharia limits on speech

. The Washington Post argued for Sharia restrictions on free speech in a wildly dishonest, silly and illogical Religion News Service article that ran in Wednesday’s religion section, headlined “Internet hate speech can lead to acts of violence.”

12.
Media Marxists Persuading the Government To Execute Its Hugest Internet Power Grab Yet

. Allow me to (re)introduce you to the hardcore Leftists rabble rousing for a full-on government takeover of the World Wide Web. Theirs is now an all-out push to have the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) “Reclassify” the Internet – so as to then impose the utterly unpopular Network Neutrality. Reclassification” means unilaterally shoving the Web out from under the existing light-touch Title I rules the 1996 Telecommunications Actplaced upon it – which have allowed it to blossom into the free speech-free market Xanadu we all know and love. And then slamming it into the Title II heavy-regulatory uber-structure that has for the last seventy-plus years crushed with regs and taxes landline telephones – that well-known bastion of technological and economic innovation. Does the FCC have the authority to Reclassify? Of course not. But this is the Barack Obama Administration – when has that ever stopped them?

13.
Former CIA / NSA Director Michael Hayden: “We Kill People Based on Metadata”

. Former Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden admitted that the agency has often used metadata for killing people. The claim came during a recent debate at John Hopkins University on the NSA’s untethered surveillance programs, which came to light via the revelations of Edward Snowden.

14.
Common Core vanishes from state law

. Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed into law Monday three education bills. SB 864 allows parents to object to school textbooks. The governor also signed a bill that would bar school districts from being able to collect student data like fingerprints. SB 188 also bars the collection of information on the political or religious affiliation of students and parents. Scott also signed a bill prompted by opposition to Common Core academic standards. HB 7031 eliminates all references to the Common Core standards in Florida law. It repeals more than 30 mentions of the standards which were placed into state law a year ago.

15.
Appeals Court Says ‘Islamization’ Trademark is Too Offensive

. A federal appeals court has rejected a controversial blogger’s attempt to trademark the name of a group she founded called “Stop Islamization of America,” ruling that the name is too offensive to Muslims to qualify for protection.

16.
De-Dollarization: Russia Is On The Verge Of Dealing A Massive Blow To The Petrodollar

. Is the petrodollar monopoly about to be shattered? When U.S. politicians started slapping economic sanctions on Russia, they probably never even imagined that there might be serious consequences for the United States. But now the Russian media is reporting that the Russian Ministry of Finance is getting ready to pull the trigger on a “de-dollarization” plan. For decades, virtually all oil and natural gas around the world has been bought and sold for U.S. dollars. As I will explain below, this has been a massive advantage for the U.S. economy. In recent years, there have been rumblings by nations such as Russia and China about the need to change to a new system, but nobody has really had a big reason to upset the status quo. However, that has now changed. The struggle over Ukraine has caused Russia to completely reevaluate the financial relationship that it has with the United States. If it starts trading a lot of oil and natural gas for currencies other than the U.S. dollar, that will be a massive blow for the petrodollar, and it could end up dramatically changing the global economic landscape.

17.
How the West Won the Great Hashtag War of 2014

. This week, a picture emerged of Islamist terror group Boko Haram’s leader Abubakar Shekau holding a machine gun in one hand and a piece of paper in the other. On that paper was scrawled: “#WeSurrender.” Thus came to an end the Great Hashtag War of 2014. Led by the bravery of First Lady Michelle Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Democratic women of the United States Senate, the West tweeted Boko Haram into submission. When Obama released the H-bomb of twitter — a sad duck-faced picture of herself in an empty room holding a sign reading #BringBackOurGirls — total victory was achieved: 276 Nigerian girls who had been kidnapped and converted to Islam avoided sale into sex slavery, and the 150 Nigerians murdered by Boko Haram just last week suddenly sprang back to life.

18..
The Incredible Shrinking U.S. Military

. By the end of this decade, the U.S. Army will be the smallest that it has been since World War II, the U.S. Navy will be the smallest that it has been since World War I, and the U.S. Air Force will have gotten nearly 500 planes smaller. Without a doubt, the U.S. military has not been used wisely in recent years, but the world is not becoming a more stable place. The threat of war appears to be greater than it has been in a very long time, and yet the Obama administration seems obsessed with gutting our national defenses. So exactly what is Obama’s agenda anyway? In a world that is getting crazier with each passing day, why would he want to steadily shrink the size of the U.S. military?

19.
Fla. Gov. OKs bill to prohibit use of foreign law

. Florida is becoming the eighth state to outlaw the use of foreign law in the state’s courts under a bill signed by Gov. Rick Scott. Scott signed the measure (SB 386) on Monday. It would prohibit judges from applying from applying foreign laws in cases involving family law, including divorce, alimony, child support and child custody. It would also prevent some judgments from foreign courts to be considered in state courts. The measure does not single out specific religions but critics said the law is intended to target a specific form of law called Shariah that is practiced in courts in some Muslim countries.

20.
Obama Administration Threatened Nigeria with Sanctions in 2013 for Fighting Boko Haram

. Hillary Clinton wasn’t the only Obama administration official who went to bat for Boko Haram over the past few years. Soon after John Kerry took over as Secretary of State, the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Terence P. McCulley, accused the Nigerian government of butchery during a confrontation with Boko Haram terrorists in Baga, a Nigerian town on the shores of Lake Chad, and in May 2013 threatened to withdraw U.S. military aid from the West African nation.

21.
Operation American Spring: Militias promise to oust Obama, Boehner on Friday

. A retired United States Army colonel expects as many as 30 million like-minded individuals will descend on Washington, DC this week and demand that President Barack Obama and other members of his administration be booted from office. Those are just some of the demands that Col. Harry Riley, founder of “Operation American Spring,” said he’ll ask the Obama administration to adhere to when militia members and patriots of all sorts arrive in the nation’s capital on Friday and begin demonstrating against a government the group considers to be in violation of the principles established by the founders of the country.

22.
Valerie Jarrett reveals Boehner’s ‘commitment’ on immigration reform

. Did Valerie Jarrett just disclose every conservatives worst fear; a disheartened Speaker John Boehner commiserating behind the scenes with President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party on the difficulties he faces from his own party in the pursuit of amnesty? Speaking at the elite invitation-only SkyBridge Alternatives Conference in Las Vegas, the president’s senior adviser said a “frustrated” Boehner pledged to help “get something done” this year on immigration reform.

Creating Obama One Photo at a Time

. I thought you might want to see this excellent mini-documentary by ReasonTV revealing how the White House uses photography to craft President Obama’s image, employing Canon-wielding propagandist Pete Souza instead of the White House press corps to present the president to the public. In the video, news image analyst Michael Shaw, publisher of Bagnewsnotes.com, describes how important the exclusion of press photographers is to the White House and how effectively Obama’s public relations outfit uses social media to disseminate the desired image – literally and figuratively – of the president.

1.
Political Fraud about Voter Fraud

. The president’s selective statistics are red meat to supporters, but still bogus. The Obama administration has been ramping up its rhetoric about the evil of voter identification as part of the run-up to the midterm elections. In January, Attorney General Eric Holder told MSNBC that voter fraud “simply does not exist to the extent that would warrant” voter ID laws, adding that many who favor such measures do so in order to “depress the vote.” Vice President Joe Biden claimed in February that new voter ID laws in North Carolina, Alabama and Texas were motivated by “hatred” and “zealotry.”

2.
Legitimacy of Obama Re-Election At Stake In Benghazi

. Probing coordinated lying on the 2012 terrorist killings of an ambassador and three other U.S. personnel is no “diversion,” as Nancy Pelosi claims. The legitimacy of a president’s re-election is at stake.

3.
Pfizer Develops a Cure for Taxes

. Viagra, Lipitor, Celebrex, Zoloft and even good old Preparation H are as American as cheeseburgers. So is Pfizer, which makes these ubiquitous remedies. But the New York-based pharmaceutical giant is reportedly brewing plans to skip the country, via a $106 billion bid for London-based drug maker AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca rejected the bid on Friday, but that’s probably not the end of this dance. Even if it is, what’s important here is Pfizer’s objective: to merge the two concerns into a holding company with a U.K. tax domicile, allowing it to avoid millions of dollars in U.S. taxes.

4.
‘Bigger than Bundy’: Land agency’s battles go beyond rancher dispute

. It’s the most powerful agency you’ve never heard of — at least, until recently. The Bureau of Land Management, the nation’s biggest landlord, found itself in the spotlight after a high-profile brawl with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and another dispute with state officials over the Texas-Oklahoma borderlands. But the seemingly obscure agency, which is in charge of millions of acres of public land, is no stranger to controversy. History shows the power struggle over property rights and land use is one that’s been fought — fiercely — ever since the bureau was created. In the nearly seven decades of its existence, the BLM has struggled to find its footing and exert its power, pitted against a vocal states’ rights movement.

5.
Too Big To Audit? Large Partnerships Escape IRS Scrutiny, GAO Reports

. In 2011, while the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was busy scrutinizing the tax-exempt status of 100 percent of Tea Party groups and other conservative non-profits, the tax agency did not audit a single high-value electing large partnership (ELP) with more than $100 million in assets. That’s according to a preliminary report released to Congress by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) April 17th.

6.
Scientists Race to Develop Farm Animals That Can Survive Global Warming

. Thousands of cattle perished in a freak snowstorm during the first weekend in October 2013 in Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota. That’s an incredible number, and yet the story received surprisingly little attention. Researchers were in the vanguard of food scientists, backed by millions of dollars from the federal government, racing to develop new breeds of farm animals that can stand up to the hazards of global warming.

7.
Fed won’t consider rate raise until October: Fisher

. The Federal Reserve will likely bring its massive bond-buying program to an end in October, and only after that will it consider when to raise U.S. interest rates, a top Fed official said on Sunday. “I personally expect us to end that program in October,” Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Richard Fisher said in an interview on Fox News. “Then we have to see how the economy is doing, including these broader measures of unemployment and where we stand before we can talk about how we might move the short-term rate.”

8.
America Today Parallels NAZI Germany

. The resemblance of America, today, parallels that of NAZI Germany in almost every way. We got to this point beginning with the George H. W. Bush Administration’s vision of a New World Order. Shortly after the unnecessary first Gulf War, in the guise of liberating Kuwait from the evil Iraqi forces of Saddam Hussein, who was previously considered a friend to the US during the Reagan Administration. Immediately after the war, George H. W. Bush proclaimed his vision of a New World Order and signed the United Nations’ Agenda 21 which literally gave away any form of sovereignty as an independent country the US had to the UN.

9.
California school district defends writing assignment on confirming or denying Holocaust

. Holocaust denial is being explored in our nation’s public school districts. Now we see how low the public school system has sunk … to the depths of hell. Reality is being debated in the public school. Truth is murdered, reason is a thought-crime, morality an unspeakable evil. Recognizing reality is subject to a club of destroyers bent on imposing their subversive, evil agenda.

10.
10 Examples of How “Big Brother” Is Steadily Creeping Into Our Daily Lives

. Virtually everything that you do is being watched. Do you drive a car? Do you watch television? Do you use a cell phone? As you do any of those things, information about you is being recorded and tracked. We live at a time when personal privacy is dying. And it is not just governments that are doing this. In fact, sometimes private companies are the biggest offenders. It turns out that gathering information about all of us is very, very profitable. And both government entities and private companies are going to continue to push the envelope when it comes to high tech surveillance until people start objecting to what they are trying to do. If we continue down the path that we are currently on, it is inevitable that we will end up living in an extremely restrictive “Big Brother” police state where basically everything that we do is very closely watched, monitored, tracked and controlled. And such a day may be much closer than you think. The following are 10 examples of how “Big Brother” is steadily creeping into our daily lives…

11.
Vladimir Putin Has the Upper Hand. Here’s Why.

. Could it be that Putin has grasped the meaning of the strategic standoff with the West better than we have? Has he figured out an approach — do we dare call it a strategy? — that minimizes our strengths and his weaknesses to achieve his objectives?

12.
Federal Debt Not Only Liability Taxpayers on Hook For

. It is no secret that Washington’s finances are in a dire state. What might come as a shock, however, is that the American people are on the hook for a lot more than just our national debt. Today, nine of 10 new mortgages are insured by you, the taxpayers. That’s right — 90% of all mortgages are backed by the U.S. government. This point becomes even more ominous when you find out that most of the fees that should be saved to protect taxpayers against future losses on these loans are being spent by Congress. When the next housing downturn comes — and it will — we will have another multi-billion-dollar bailout on our hands. To this day, many Americans are completely unaware of the costs of this bailout and the dangers it poses for America.

13.
Government Will Control You before It Controls Climate

. Ultimately, it will not matter if people in government cynically promote the theory that human activity is destroying the global climate as a means of taking control of your life, or if they take control of your life because they sincerely believe human activity is destroying the global climate. Either way, government will control of your life.

14.
The “Economic Recovery” Continues: Businesses Are Being Destroyed Faster Than They Are Being Created

. What would you say about an economy where businesses are shutting down faster than they are opening? Well, a shocking new study released by the Brookings Institution indicates that this is exactly what is happening in the United States. We are absolutely killing small businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit in this country, and as you will see below, the number of self-employed Americans has been on a downward trend for a decade even though our population has been steadily growing. Traditionally, small businesses have been the primary engine of job growth in this nation, so the fact that study after study has found that small business creation is being crippled in the United States is a really bad sign for our economic future.

15.
Who Really Owns America’s Land?

. Under English common law, a most unique significance was attached to the unalienable right of possessing, developing, and disposing of property. Land and the products of the earth, in their natural state, were considered a gift of God to man, but then man was commanded individually to cultivate, beautify, and subdue it and bring it under his dominion. This is the root of private property ownership, for without a certain exclusiveness, one cannot fulfill the command to “subdue” and gain “dominion” over property. America’s Founders took this Biblical injunction literally and believed that no government official has a right to interfere with this God-given, unalienable right and mandate. Their belief that the land belonged to the people, not the king, was the impetus for including the grievances in the Declaration of Independence that, 1) “He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States;… and rais[ed] the conditions of new Appropriations of Land, and, 2) the “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.” King George also attempted to prevent the colonists from possessing the new lands west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Land belongs to the people, not the Government or the King

16.
New White House Video Actually Brags about Obama’s Imperial Presidency!

. In a sickening display of hubris, the White House released a video on Monday proudly touting the president’s “accomplishments” with his “year of action” that centers on Unconstitutional power grabs. Like a propaganda video touting a modern day Great Leap Forward, the video repeatedly harps on President Obama’s willingness to act unilaterally, without Congress.

17.
Report: One Obamacare Tax Could Cost Up To 286,000 Jobs

. Just one of Obamacare’s many taxes could cost the U.S. hundreds of thousands of jobs over the next decade, according to an industry report published Tuesday. The National Federation of Independent Business projects that between 152,000 and 286,000 jobs will be lost by 2023 due to Obamacare’s health insurance tax. NFIB, a nonprofit association of business owners, actively supports the repeal of the tax.

18.
Liberal Study Finds Entrepreneurs Dying Under Obama

. Mitt Romney was right. In 2012, he said President Obama’s policies were costing a record 100,000 business start-ups a year. Now a liberal think tank backs him up. Only it’s worse. The Brookings Institution found that for the first time on record U.S. businesses are being destroyed faster than they’re being created. In fact, the American economy is less entrepreneurial now than at any point in the last three decades.

19.
Who Owns One-Third of American Land — And How It’s Holding Us Back

. Did you know that the federal government owns nearly one-third of U.S. land? What are they doing with it, you might ask. And the answer is certainly not making the most of it. In fact, true to form, the federal government is getting in the way of domestic energy and American jobs. “Inaccessibility and unnecessary regulations inhibit economic growth in various parts of the country,” says Heritage expert Nicolas Loris, the Herbert and Joyce Morgan Fellow. He points to a recent study showing that “opening up offshore areas for drilling in the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf — just one region where offshore drilling is possible but not permitted — would create 280,000 jobs in that region alone.”

20.
John Podesta – Obama’s Hit Man for the Global Warming Scam

. John Podesta is now the man in control of the energy policies in the United States. Some will question just who John Podesta is and that is a very good question and we will reveal the man who has “forced’ the challenge of destroying the very Constitution our nation has loved so dearly. John Podesta has been working to circumvent the Constitution of the United States since he began his career working with Senator Patrick Leahy from 1981 to 1988. It was John Podesta, who advocated smearing those who did not agree with the ideas that Senator Leahy produced.

21.
Not Working: U.S. Labor Force Participation Lowest in 36 Years

. It’s yet another sad, sorry statistic in the history of the slowly sinking ship that is the American economy. The latest Senate Budget Committee analysis shows that over half a million less people have jobs now than before President Obama took office, even though there are 8 million more people in the working-age population. Total employment has declined from 146.3 million to 145.7 million. Worse, the labor force participation rate hit a record low last month, while the number of Americans who could work but don’t work between the ages of 25 and 29 hit a record high — nearly 4.3 million. That last number has increased 13.6% since Obama took office.

22.
Fed Chair: ‘Deficits Will Rise to Unsustainable Levels’

. Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, referencing the Congressional Budget Office’s long-term budget projections, told the Joint Economic Committee of Congress today that under current policies the federal government’s deficits “will rise to unsustainable levels.”

23.
Washington Post calls for Islamic restrictions on internet free speech

. The Washington Post is arguing for sharia restrictions on free speech in a wildly dishonest, silly, and illogical article that ran in yesterday’s WaPo Religion section, entitled “Internet hate speech can lead to acts of violence,”

24.
Feds Threaten States for Failing to Comply with Common Core Standards

. Since the Constitution does not grant the federal government the power to determine educational requirements or standards for our children, that power is reserved to the States or the people. However, the federal government usurped that power with the establishment of the Department of Education. Now, with their mandates of “no child left behind” and the dreaded Common Core, the federal government has taken control of the power of education away from the States and the people. In fact, any State that does not follow the “rules” set forth by the federal government through the Department of Education will be threatened with loss of their federal funding.

General Electric to investors: Obamacare is hurting our medical business

. General Electric is telling its investors that Obamacare is to blame for recent losses in the company’s health care division, The Daily Caller has learned. “Hospitals and clinics appear to be delaying purchases and responses to the ACA [Affordable Care Act],” stated GE senior vice president and CFO Jeffrey S. Bornstein in the company’s first-quarter earnings call. General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt, an outside economic adviser to President Obama, confirmed at a shareholder meeting Wednesday that the health sector is experiencing uncertainty.

2.
Feds Cannot Own Land

. Last night on the Sean Hannity show, Judge Napolitano said what I’ve been saying. The federal government has no constitutional authority to own land. Check it out; watch a recording of the show. Any such claim to federal land ownership (except federal enclaves) lack constitutional authority, and is therefore null and void. The federal government does not own the public lands. The People do. The issue is not land transfer. The issue is not even legislative authority, because the Constitution and Eisenhower Report are both consistent in saying the legislative authority over the lands within the states belongs to the states (except the federal enclaves). The states just have to exercise it.

3.
Department of Energy wants bulk explosives for nuclear weapons transport

. The Government buying explosives is not new. But when they do something new – that’s why we should pay attention. In a new solicitation posted 22 April 2014, the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Contracts and Procurement Division (CPD) is searching for a small capable of providing Integral Firing Devices and Breacher Strip Assemblies that meet specific characteristics in support of the NNSA’s Office of Secure Transportation (OST). The mission of OST is the safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons, special nuclear materials, selected non-nuclear weapons components, limited-life components, and various other materials.

4.
Another university stops students from handing out Constitution

. Two students are suing the University of Hawaii for violating their First Amendment rights after administrator prevented them from distributing copies of the U.S. Constitution — demonstrating a frightening lack of knowledge about the very legal document they were attempting to censor.

5.
The Health Care Compact is Gaining Momentum

. Republicans and Democrats in Washington DC deeply disagree about what to do on health care. But amidst all of the partisan bickering and deadlock, both groups agree on one thing: Washington DC should decide for everyone. There is another way to fix health care: give states a way out of the centrally controlled system designed, built, and operated by Washington DC bureaucrats, lobbyists, and policy wonks. It’s called the Health Care Compact. It is a grassroots-led, bottom-up reform that will allow the repeal of Obamacare on a state-by-state basis, cut up to $3.6 trillion out of federal spending over the next 10 years, and rebalance our system of federalism by allowing control over health care to move from the federal to the state level. And it is a strategy that can be replicated in other policy areas, from education to campaign finance.

6.
The NDAA: What They Don’t Want You To Know

. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Sections 1021 and 1022, authorizes the indefinite military detention, without charge or trial, of any person, including an American citizen, and applies the “Law of War,” to U.S. soil, making the United States legally a battlefield.

7.
State Department Launches Hashtag Strike on Russia

. Just when you thought the Obama Administration’s foreign policy couldn’t get any more ridiculous, the State Department sallies forth with a bracing challenge for Russia to respect the lame-o Twitter hashtag they touted last month:

8.
12 Step Program to Liberty

. Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over the bureaucracy – that it had become unmanageable. You need to admit you have a problem; the system is not only broken but actively working against you on both sides of the aisle….

9.
Passage of Special Districts Accountability Legislation

. Today, the Florida House of Representatives passed accountability legislation for special districts (SB 1632) unanimously by a vote of 115-0. The legislation amends the definition of agency in the state code of ethics to specifically include special districts. Under the proposal, special districts would also be required to put their budgets, taxes assessed and audits online for the public. The Florida Senate approved the measure unanimously by a vote of 38-0 on April 25. The bill now goes to Governor Rick Scott.

10.
Markets Would Solve California’s Water Shortage

. It’s so dry in California that gangs of water police are roving freely through neighborhoods and the governor is trying to manage restaurants. Here’s a far better idea for conservation — the power of markets. The solution to the drought need not be so complex. By simply letting water cost what it actually costs, Californians would conserve on their own without the heavy hand of government hovering over their heads.

11.
The Real Unemployment Rate: In 20% Of American Families, EVERYONE Is Unemployed

. According to shocking new numbers that were just released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20 percent of American families do not have a single person that is working. So when someone tries to tell you that the unemployment rate in the United States is about 7 percent, you should just laugh. A number that I find much more useful is the employment-population ratio. According to the employment-population ratio, the percentage of working age Americans that actually have a job has been below 59 percent for more than four years in a row. That means that more than 41 percent of all working age Americans do not have a job.

12.
Obama hires a CRIMINAL defense attorney to be his new White House counsel

. A week ago on April 21, 2014, the White House announced that W. Neil Eggleston, a well-known criminal defense attorney, will be Obama’s new White House counsel upon the May 2014 departure of Kathryn Ruemmler. Keith Koffler of whitehousedossier.com says Eggleston is the kind of guy you go to when someone tells you, “time to lawyer up.”

13.
Senate approves ban on foreign law in Florida courts

. The Florida Senate voted to forbid application of foreign law in Florida courts Monday despite arguments that no such legislative ban is needed.

14.
Men Who Work Full-Time Earn Less Than 40 Years Ago

. The real median income of American men who work full-time, year-round peaked forty years ago in 1973, according to data published by the U.S. Census Bureau. In 1973, median earnings for men who worked full-time, year-round were $51,670 in inflation-adjusted 2012 dollars. The median earnings of men who work full-time year-round never have been that high again.

15.
Senators call proposed EPA rule a ‘terrifying power grab’

. The American Farm Bureau Federation is warning farmers and ranchers that a proposed EPA rule could mean that “ordinary fieldwork, fence construction or even planting could require a federal permit.”

16.
Toyota Trades California for No-Tax, Low-Regulation Texas

. Texas Gov. Rick Perry keeps coming back to California to lure companies to the income-tax-free Lone Star State. Apparently he’s succeeding. Toyota Motor Corp. will relocate “substantial parts” of its U.S. headquarters in Torrance, Calif., to suburban Dallas. The impetus for the move: cutting costs. This could lead to as many as 5,000 jobs transplanted from California to Big D, as they call it in Texas. This is the 50th major employer to make the trek to the Lone Star State from California this year alone.

17.
‘One Nation Under Allah’: The Islamization Of American Public Schools

. Endless concessions and accommodations to Islamic demands only give way to more demands for even more Islam, as shown in the recent blockbuster revelations of an Islamic takeover of UK public schools. What is less well known is the same kinds of things are happening here in the United States.

18.
VA Hospital Facilities Turn Away State Healthcare Inspectors In Florida

. During a medal awards ceremony in honor of Florida veterans at the National Guard Armory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Governor Rick Scott was asked about the ongoing Department of Veterans Affairs scandal, where numerous American veterans have fallen ill or have died, because of the VA’s neglect at several of the department’s facilities, including the hospital in Miami. Incredibly, Scott said he has asked VA facilities in the state about veteran healthcare neglect, but the facilities have not come forward and responded to his request. Scott also said that the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration, who is tasked to do inspections of VA facilities, have been turned away.

19.
17 Facts to Show To Anyone That Believes That The U.S. Economy Is Just Fine

. No, the economy is most definitely not “recovering”. Despite what you may hear from the politicians and from the mainstream media, the truth is that the U.S. economy is in far worse shape than it was prior to the last recession. In fact, we are still pretty much where we were at when the last recession finally ended. When the financial crisis of 2008 struck, it took us down to a much lower level economically. Thankfully, things have at least stabilized at this much lower level. For example, the percentage of working age Americans that are employed has stayed remarkably flat for the past four years. We should be grateful that things have not continued to get even worse. It is almost as if someone has hit the “pause button” on the U.S. economy. But things are definitely not getting better, and there are a whole host of signs that this bubble of false stability will soon come to an end and that our economic decline will accelerate once again. The following are 17 facts to show to anyone that believes that the U.S. economy is just fine…

20.
U.S. Regulatory Costs Are World’s No. 10 Economy

. After years of rapid growth during the Obama administration, the cost of federal regulations is now bigger than the entire economies of all but nine countries in the world. That’s according to the latest annual report on the regulatory state issued by the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, titled “Ten Thousand Commandments.”

21.
EMS Worker Tells Mom “We’re Agents of the State” During Home Inspection

. After a concerned mother called 911 fearing her son was choking, an EMS worker proceeded to conduct an inspection of her house on the premise that she homeschooled, telling the woman “we’re agents of the state”.

22.
Sharia Advisors – Barack Obama’s Muslim Appointees in High Security Positions

. Just how does one even begin to understand how the President would place people into positions that seem like placing the proverbial Fox in the Chicken Coop? Barack Obama has placed individuals who represent, or are a part of, the Muslim Brotherhood into high security positions. Is this due to the fact that Obama is a Muslim? Is this due to the fact that Obama may think that showing the Muslim community he has placed Muslims in high positions will stop them from hating the United States? Could this be due to his Marxist ideology he developed while at Occidental College? Maybe, just maybe, it is because Obama just does not wish for the United States to be strong and he wants to show the world the United States is not the leader it once was. One thing Obama has shown to the world is that he is not a world leader nor is he an American leader.

23.
Not Even Your McDonald’s Happy Meal is Safe From Ridiculous Politically Correct Attacks

. you’ve often thought that McDonald’s Happy Meals were a main obstacle preventing the coming of a glorious future where human beings have progressed beyond artificial heteronormative standards of gender imposed by the patriarchy on our girls and boys, you’d be absolutely right. But thankfully, in mankind’s darkest hour of need, there are harridans of histrionic hysteria that are waiting in the woodwork to protect our children from nature’s imperialist gender constraints. Connecticut high school student Antonia Ayres-Brown wrote about her heroic struggle at Slate. The budding liberal child declared victory when it was reported that a McDonald’s posted this sign: “When a customer orders a happy meal you must ask ‘will that be a My Little Pony toy? Or a Skylanders toy?’. We will no longer refer to them as ‘boy or girl toys.’ ”

24.
Fall of Britain’s Conservatives Is Warning To GOP

. Nationally UKIP is the direct beneficiary of collapsing support for both the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties. Why? UKIP is calling for British withdrawal from the European Union and has surged under Nigel Farage’s leadership since 2010, when the European sovereign-debt crisis began. That, coupled with high unemployment and the economy still sagging after the global financial crisis, is why the political establishment in London is having a hard time accounting for its own failures.

92,594,000: Americans Not in Labor Force Hits All-Time Record; Participation Rate Matches 36-Year Low

. A record 92,594,000 Americans were not in the labor force in April as the labor force participation rate matched a 36-year low of 62.8 percent, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Electricity Price Surged to All-Time Record for March

. The average price for a kilowatthour (KWH) of electricity hit a March record of 13.5 cents, according data released yesterday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That was up about 5.5 percent from 12.8 cents per KWH in March 2013.

Western states hold summit on controling federal land, say ‘It’s time’

. Lawmakers from Western states said Friday that the time has come for them to take control of federal lands within their borders and suggested the standoff this month between a Nevada rancher and the federal government was a problem waiting to happen.

3.
Computer Tech Shows The DHS Just How Easy It Is To Breach The Security Of The Power Grid

. Again, the vulnerability of our power grid is in the news. This time, the threat is hackers. The LA Times published an article highlighting how alarmingly simple it was for a guy in North Carolina to breach the online security of American power stations. Adam Crain assumed that tapping into the computer networks used by power companies to keep electricity zipping through transmission lines would be nearly impossible in these days of heightened vigilance over cybersecurity. When he discovered how wrong he was, his work sent Homeland Security Department officials into a scramble.

4.
Scalia to students on high taxes: At a certain point, ‘perhaps you should revolt’

. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia told a group of law students that it might be a good idea to revolt if taxes become too high in the future. While speaking at the University of Tennessee College of Law on Tuesday, Justice Scalia was asked by a student about his interpretation of the constitutionality of the income tax, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported

5.
Oregon jihad training camp showed “how to properly slice someone’s throat”

. This is in America. This is on a ranch in rural Oregon. A Muslim holding a dagger with a curved blade yanked back the head of a kneeling young man and brought the metal to his neck. “He said he was going to show us how to properly slice someone’s throat,” the kneeling man’s sister testified Thursday as prosecutors began presenting their case against an Egyptian-born imam known as Abu Hamza Masri, the latest terrorism case to unfold in a New York federal court.

6.
Prepare for outrage: Far left judges allow destruction of college debate clubs because RACISM

. Several college debate clubs that feature members preoccupied with minority issues have decided the traditional tournament format promotes white privilege. They have responded by refusing to play by the official rules, ignoring time limits and rebutting their opponents with rap and spoken-word poetry. Fawning, sympathetic, liberal judges have of course rewarded such antics.

7.
GAO Report Details Obamacare Shakedown

. While Tea Party and pro-life groups were getting dragged into spider holes and cocooned with red tape by the politicized Internal Revenue Service, Sebelius was making phone calls to corporations she had make-or-break regulatory power over, and encouraging them to slip some money to the Obama-allied nonprofit group Enroll America. On Sunday, the New York Times reported on new details emerging from a government report on this unusual arrangement:

8.
Study Shows Ethanol Produces Worse ‘Global Warming’ Pollution Than Gasoline

. Well, this is going to be a heartbreaker for the hysterical global warming crowd. According to a new study, emissions from burning corn are worse for the environment and produce more CO2 or ‘global warming’ gases than the burning of traditional gasoline. A $500,000 study paid for by the federal government and released Sunday in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Climate Change concludes that biofuels made with corn residue release 7 percent more greenhouse gases in the early years compared with conventional gasoline.

9.
Conservatives Threatened For Opposing Pro-Illegal Immigration Bill in Florida

. The Florida Senator Jack Latvala’s pro-illegal immigration law, SB1400, which would grant in-state tuition to illegal aliens, would pass if it made it to the Senate floor for a vote, but the Senate’s budget chairman has said that he would block the bill. This bill is causing some of its supporters to act more like liberal AFL-CIO thugs, as threats are now being levied against some Conservatives who do not support Latvala’s pro-amnesty for illegal aliens bill. The threats are said to be carried out through third parties, by supporters of Latvala, and are warning these Conservatives, that if they openly oppose the SB1400, they can expect to be attacked by paid liberal bloggers, and quite possibly some main street reporters, who would implement character assignations against them and their families.

10.
Calif. tax preparers paid bounty for every Obamacare sign-up

. Tax-preparing companies are getting paid by an Obamacare exchange to enroll people in Obamacare plans. At least 79 tax service providers, including offices of major companies like Liberty Tax Service and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, are listed as certified Obamacare enrollment entities in the state of California, according to state exchange records.

11.
HHS Spends $123.2 Million Per Year on ‘Email Services’

. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spends roughly $123.2 million per year to provide “email services” for its 70,000 employees, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

12.
‘Hacking the Constitution’: States Quietly Plan to Ditch Electoral College

. Nearly a dozen states have quietly signed onto a plan to effectively ditch the Electoral College and instead, award the White House to the candidate that wins the popular vote. The National Popular Vote agreement would take effect if states that represent 270 electoral votes all commit. New York has most recently joined the efforts, bringing the number of states to 10 plus the District of Columbia. Altogether, they represent 165 electoral votes.

13.
How the West Will Be Won? Utah & 8 Other States form Summit to Wrest Land from Feds

. Lawmakers from 9 western states gathered in Utah to have joint talks about taking control of federal lands within their borders. More than 50 political leaders, including lawmakers and county commissioners, convened at the Legislative Summit on the Transfer for Public Lands to speak about a common goal: wresting control of lands within their states, rich with oil, timber and minerals from the federal government. The nine western states were Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

14.
The Constitution is not a living organism

. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia recently said, “The Constitution is not a living organism” “It is a legal document, and it says what it says and doesn’t say what it does not say”. Well said Justice Scalia. The Founding Fathers who sought Gods’ wisdom were indeed led by Gods wisdom. Ask, and you shall receive. Other court justices, attorneys, this administration, and other progressives and liberals refer to the Constitution as a “living organism”. That sounds good, if one does not know what that term means. So why is that bad for our Constitution, and the American people?

15.
Obama Calls for Highest Sustained Taxation in U.S. History

. In the budget proposal he presented to Congress last month, President Barack Obama called for what would be the highest level of sustained taxation ever imposed on the American people, according to the analysis published last week by the Congressional Budget Office. Under Obama’s proposal, taxes would rise from 17.6 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 2014 to 19.2 percent in 2024. During the ten years from 2015 to 2024, federal taxation would average 18.7 percent GDP.

16.
AFL-CIO demands deportation exemption to promote worker safety

. The AFL-CIO, the nation’s largest labor federation, is calling on the Obama administration to give illegal immigrants a reprieve from deportation proceedings, in order to encourage these immigrants to report unsafe working conditions and other workplace violations.

17.
Benghazi attack could have been prevented if US hadn’t ‘switched sides in the War on Terror’.

. Citizens Committee on Benghazi claims the US government allowed $500 MILLION of arms to flow to al-Qaeda-linked militants who opposed Muammar Gaddafi

18.
Agenda 21: The BLM Land Grabbing Endgame

. Why is the federal government so obsessed with grabbing more land? After all, the federal government already owns more than 40 percent of the land in 9 different U.S. states. Why are federal bureaucrats so determined to grab even more? Well, the truth is that this all becomes much clearer once you understand that there is a very twisted philosophy behind what they are doing. It is commonly known as “Agenda 21?, although many names and labels are used for this particular philosophy.

19.
Florida and Alaska Officially Pass Convention of States Application

. I’m pleased to announce that Florida and Alaska have both officially passed the Convention of States application to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government. The Alaska Senate passed the Convention of States application (HJR 22) on Saturday by a vote of 12-8, and the Florida House passed the Convention of States application (SM 476) yesterday by a voice vote.

20.
Illinois House Committee Wants Taxpayers to Spend $100 Million on Barack Obama Library

. Illinois passed massive “temporary” tax hikes to fix the pension problem, but that did not make a dent in the problem. An Illinois House Committee wants taxpayers to pay $100 million for a Barack Obama library. Somehow, House Speaker Michael Madigan thinks this is an appropriate use of funds despite the state’s more than $100 billion pension crisis and $6.6 billion in unpaid bills. In accepting hefty taxpayer dollars for this venture, President Barack Obama is setting himself apart from his recent predecessors, former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

21.
The Middle Class In Canada Is Now Doing Better Than The Middle Class In America

. For most of Canada’s existence, it has been regarded as the weak neighbor to the north by most Americans. Well, that has changed dramatically over the past decade or so. Back in the year 2000, middle class Canadians were earning much less than middle class Americans, but since then there has been a dramatic shift. At this point, middle class Canadians are actually earning more than middle class Americans are. The Canadian economy has been booming thanks to a rapidly growing oil industry, and meanwhile the U.S. middle class has been steadily shrinking. If current trends continue, a whole bunch of other countries are going to start passing us too. The era of the “great U.S. middle class” is rapidly coming to a bitter end.

22.
Four Counties in Alabama Have More Registered Voters than Adult Residents

. Four counties in Alabama have more registered and active voters than the number of voting-age adults in the county. An active voter means the person has voted within the last four years. As of March, Greene, Hale, Lowndes and Macon counties had more active, registered voters than what the census estimated as their 18-and-older population in 2012.

23.
Dodd-Frank Inc. And The Rise Of The Fat Cat Bank Regulator

. Thanks to new financial “reform” rules — made possible through the demonization of “greedy” Wall Street — the average bank regulator now makes more than the average “fat cat” banker. Since the 2010 enactment of the Dodd-Frank Act, federal bank regulator jobs have expanded and pay has climbed with them. Last year, according to Labor Department data, the average worker at a federal bank regulatory agency got 2.7 times the average pay of a private banker.

24.
Obama’s Ideology-Driven ‘Dumb War’ Is A New Cold War

. Remember President Obama’s 2012 debate zinger, “the Cold War’s been over for 20 years”? But under his failed diplomacy, Moscow is a bigger menace than at any time since the Cold War. Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday was pining for the good old days. Speaking at the State Department, he lamented how “it was easier than it is today; simpler is maybe a way to put it.”

25.
Louisiana Creates Database of Citizens Who Represent “A Risk to the State”

. Authorities in Louisiana are compiling a database of information on every citizen in order to identify people who are “a risk to the state,” as well as pinpointing future criminals in an effort to allow the state to “intervene in that person’s life”.

1.
Sheriffs warn of violence from Mexican cartels deep into interior of U.S.

. Outmanned and outgunned, local law enforcement officers are alarmed by the drug and human trafficking, prostitution, kidnapping and money laundering that Mexican drug cartels are conducting in the U.S. far from the border. U.S. sheriffs say that securing the border is a growing concern to law enforcement agencies throughout the country, not just those near the U.S.-Mexico boundary.

2.
TSA rules mute woman can’t board flight unless she speaks

. The Transportation Security Administration should really go into faith healing. Last year the agency ordered a Marine who had lost both legs in combat to stand up and walk. This week, they were at it again. Agents at a security checkpoint refused to greenlight a woman who has been unable to speak or write since she suffered a stroke a decade ago.

3.
EPA coal rules leaving US vulnerable to power blackouts?

. Facing the Obama administration’s so-called “war on coal,” some utility officials are warning that fewer coal-fired power plants could leave the U.S. power system vulnerable to blackouts in the near future. The officials warn that intense summer heat or extreme winter cold could soon be too much for the system to handle.

4.
IRS Seizing Tax Refunds of Children, Grandchildren Over Parents’ Decades-Old Debts

. Some 400,000 Americans may see their tax refund checks grabbed by the government after Congress quietly lifted the 10-year statute of limitations in 2011 on money owed to Uncle Sam. Now, debts going back decades are considered fair game for the IRS, and the government is coming after the children and grandchildren of the original debtors for the repayment.

5.
Tensions over money flows bode poorly for global economy

. For a bunch of people who just agreed the global economy is doing better, top officials from the world’s rich and poor nations sound rather worried. For poor nations, the easy monetary policies in advanced economies are leading to big swings in capital flows that could destabilize emerging markets. For rich countries, the hoarding of currency by developing nations is blocking progress toward a more stable global economy. Those tensions, which have been brewing for years, seemed to be rising as finance ministers and central bank chiefs from the Group of 20 economies gathered last week in Washington, as evidenced by harsh words from Washington and Delhi.

6.
Solar companies take govt. to court over not getting enough grant money or something

. Generally, when we hear stories about the federal government ripping off the businessman, we tend to think of tales of tax increases or burdensome regulations. But a different type of story crosses our desk this weekend, as a solar power consortium – who already received a quarter billion in grants and tax incentives – takes Uncle Sam to the courthouse because they feel they should have gotten millions more.

7.
UN panel: Greenhouse gas emissions doubled despite climate action

. Global greenhouse gas emissions accelerated to drastic levels at the start of the century despite an increased number of policies directed at mitigating global warming, the United Nations’ top panel on climate change says.

8.
Federal dietary guidelines bring new nanny-state concerns

. New federal dietary guidelines are due to come out next year, and critics say early drafts suggest they may represent a new nanny-state intrusion – calling for Internet-based “weigh-ins” and government text messages to overweight people meant to help them shed the pounds. Critics also fear the guidelines, which are subject to revision every five years, may go well beyond nutrition to address the planet’s health, too. At a March 14 meeting of the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, committee member Miriam Nelson of Tufts University said: “The question that we’re spending the most time on right now is really, what is the relationship between population level dietary patterns as a whole and long-term food sustainability and related food security?” Phrases like “sustainability,” “climate change,” “organic,” and “locally grown” are a part of the guideline discussions, much to the consternation of some critics.

9.
The Communist Chinese Takeover of All US Energy

. The Bundy affair affirmed the fact that Chinese are being handed control of solar energy inside the United States and that this is being facilitated by Senator Harry Reid. The takeover of American energy is being manifested on many fronts, but in particular, it is being concentrated on the takeover of the solar industry in the new Agenda 21 designation with the so-called “Solar Energy Zones”. These Solar Energy Zones are appearing in multiple locations in such places as Southwestern Arizona, Barstow, CA. and Victorville, CA., and now I am receiving on te ground reports from Colorado and Utah as well. These designated Solar Energy Zones have very similar variables in common. The following chart indicates that the debt compensation will consist of complete control of the solar industry and will be expanded to other energy sources (e.g. hydroelectric and nuclear power). Again, here is a chart which demonstrates the commonalities shared by these Solar Energy Zones.

10.
Obama’s budget proposal brings him up to 442 proposed tax hikes in office

. President Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget proposal includes 93 new tax increases, which brings the total number of tax hikes Obama has proposed in office up to 442.

11.
Flashback: Sen. Reid Breaks Ground for Nevada Solar Farm Near Bundy Ranch

. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who was exposed last Friday as the mastermind behind the Bureau of Land Management’s persecution of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, can be seen in this March 2014 photo breaking ground for a new solar farm near the Bundy Ranch, emphasizing that the senator’s plan for solar projects in Nevada wasn’t just limited to the shelved solar farm near Laughlin.

12.
Regulation Nation: Breweries fight back against new government grain rules

. A fight is brewing between American beer makers and the federal government over happy hour … for cows. For centuries, brewers have given or sold the leftover grain from the brewing process to local ranchers and dairy farmers for cattle feed. But new regulations proposed by the Food and Drug Administration threaten to end that relationship. “The whole brewing community was shocked about it,” said Josh Deth, co-owner of Revolution Brewing in Chicago, Ill.

13.
GAO: Delays in issuing annual RFS hurt refiners

. A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released Monday said when the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) is late in issuing its annual Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) it increases costs for refiners. The RFS each year sets the amount of biofuels refiners must blend into the nation’s fuel supply. The standards have contributed to declining petroleum consumption while increasing costs, according to the report.

14.
Checkout Lanes with No Checkers; another Result of Minimum Wage

. So my wife and I are out running errands, and we stop at a big grocery store. As we go through checkout, I see probably the biggest argument against raising the minimum wage I can think of: no cashier. I look up and down the checkout lanes. Most are self-checkout and bag-your-own. It gets me thinking. When I was a kid, self-serve gasoline was unheard of. You pulled up at a gas pump, rolled over a hose that would “ding-ding” for an attendant, and out would come someone to pump the gas for you, clean your car’s windows, and offer to check your car’s oil level. Today, gas station attendants are almost extinct. It’s almost all self-serve gas now. Also gone are our local movie theater ushers, and our bowling alley pin setters. I’m not old enough to remember elevator operators, but I’ve seen them in old movies. They’re gone too.

15.
Obamacare coming to vending machines, next to the chips and nuts

. It’s already disrupted the health-care marketplace. Now, the Affordable Care Act is infiltrating vending machines. Yep, a provision in the Affordable Care Act requires vending machines to display the calorie content of all food items. The FDA finalized the regulations April 3.

16.
Putin’s Russia And America’s Export-Import Bank

. Even as Americans sour on Russia their financial activity in the country has soared through a little known credit export agency called the U.S. Export-Import (ExIm) Bank. According to the Bank’s 2013 annual report, it guaranteed more than $580 million in export funding during the last fiscal year — up 177-percent from fiscal year 2012. As is typical with the ExIm Bank, the bulk of fiscal year 2013 activity centers around Boeing — 85-percent of the Russian guarantees, to be precise. As we’ve written before, even though Boeing can arrange its own financing, the $93 billion company “receives upwards of 80-percent of the Ex-Im Bank’s taxpayer-backed loan guarantees.”

17.
How Obama’s Justice Department Selectively Blocks Mergers By Republican CEOs

. Like all mergers, the proposed $45.2 billion Comcast merger with Time Warner Cable —the largest and second largest cable providers in the nation—has its advocates and critics. There are certainly important questions about what impact the merger would have on consumers—but there are equally significant issues associated with the highly politicized approval process. The Obama Department of Justice, led by Eric Holder, must review the merger and decide whether to approve or block it. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration and Justice Department have a long track record of pushing the rule of law aside and making decisions based on politics. Will the proposed Comcast merger with Time Warner Cable receive the scrutiny it deserves, or simply be fast-tracked for approval based on politics?

18.
Martial law: Obama confiscates National Guard helicopters from all 50 states

. As if the Obama administration’s purchase of more than 2 billion rounds of ammunition, and nearly 3,000 urban tanks, along with their unprecedented (and highly illegal) domestic spying program was not enough to convince you that the federal government is about to suspend the Constitution once and for all, the man who once vowed to run “the most transparent administration in history” has just rather inexplicably, ordered the U.S. Army to seize every Apache attack helicopter currently in use by the National Guard. In all, the Defense Department will confiscate 192 Apaches from National Guard units around the country and give them to the active duty Army. In exchange for the heavily armed and highly maneuverable choppers, Guard units will receive 111 UH-60 Blackhawk transport helicopters from the Army, Defense One reports.

19.
CBO Dire Debt Warnings Show Nation’s Democrat Future

. The Congressional Budget Office warns of a terrifying, unprecedented level of national debt in the coming decade. That fits nicely with Democrats’ objectives, but not with our nation’s founding principles.

20.
Debt Collections Latest Front In Obama’s Race Battle

. No one likes bill collectors, but this administration is framing them as racists to run them out of business. It’s even giving deadbeats tips on dodging collections. It does neither lenders nor borrowers any favors. The Obama administration’s powerful new credit watchdog agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is in effect criminalizing debt collections by arguing they have a “disparate impact” on black Americans.

21.
Manipulating Information To Overstate Global Warming

. Exaggerating the degree and impact of climate change has been part of the global warming alarmists’ strategy. Now it seems even academics are doing it, publishing a paper that provides a “rationale” for lying.

22.
Is your home’s energy meter spying on you?

. Utility companies across the U.S. are installing smart meters in customers’ homes, touting the technology’s energy-saving ways, but opponents argue that the meters are opening a Pandora’s box of privacy concerns. The smart energy meters read electric or gas usage, and enable a power company to collect detailed usage data on a particular home or building. But the readings also gather personal information that some critics argue is too intrusive. The information gathered from smart meters includes unencrypted data that can, among other details, reveal when a homeowner is away from their residence for long periods of time. The electric wattage readings can even decipher what type of activities a customer is engaged in, such as watching TV, using a computer or even how long someone spends cooking.

23.
Obama administration begins stealth bailout of Detroit

. President Barack Obama is using $100 million taxpayers’ dollars to help keep Detroit’s pension funds afloat, contradicting his administration’s commitment to avoid a bailout. The federal $100 million is being described as “blight remediation,” but it allows the city’s new managers to reshuffle more cash into the city employees’ pension funds, which were looted by city and union officials for several decades.

24.
Common core, the Fordham institute, and the D.C. Edu-blob

. If Congress… may establish teachers in every State, county, and parish, and pay them out of the public Treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union… I would venture to declare it as my opinion… it would subvert the very foundation and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America…James Madison, 1792

25.
18 Stats That Prove That Government Dependence Has Reached Epidemic Levels

. The number of Americans getting benefits from the federal government each month exceeds the number of full-time workers in the private sector by more than 60 million? In other words, the number of people that are taking money out of the system is far greater than the number of people that are putting money into the system.

Shocking Facts About The Deindustrialization Of America That Everyone Should Know

. How long can America continue to burn up wealth? How long can this nation continue to consume far more wealth than it produces? The trade deficit is one of the biggest reasons for the steady decline of the U.S. economy, but many Americans don’t even understand what it is. Basically, we are buying far more stuff from the rest of the world than they are buying from us. That means that far more money is constantly leaving the country than is coming into the country. In order to keep the game going, we have to go to the people that we bought all of that stuff from and ask them to lend our money back to us. Or lately, we just have the Federal Reserve create new money out of thin air. This is called “quantitative easing”. Our current debt-fueled lifestyle is dependent on this cycle continuing. In order to live like we do, we must consume far more wealth than we produce. If someday we are forced to only live on the wealth that we create, it will require a massive adjustment in our standard of living. We have become great at consuming wealth but not so great at creating it. But as a result of running gigantic trade deficits year after year, we have lost tens of thousands of businesses, millions upon millions of jobs, and America is being deindustrialized at a staggering pace.

2.
State Senate passes budget including $10 million for All Aboard Florida quiet zones

. The Senate approved its budget Thursday along with an amendment that would allow the Florida Department of Transportation to create a grant program to fund up to 50 percent of the local cost of quiet zones.

3.
State Department Misplaced $6B Under Hillary Clinton

. The State Department misplaced and lost some $6 billion due to the improper filing of contracts during the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, according to a newly released Inspector General report.

4.
Little-noticed provision would dramatically expand DOJ’s authority at the polls

. In early February, Republican and Democratic sponsors introduced the “Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014,” ostensibly to repair the provisions of the Voting Rights Act struck down by the Supreme Court last June in Shelby County v. Holder. What has escaped comment so far, however, is the fact that a little-noticed provision of the bill would abolish the longstanding legal principle that the U.S. Attorney General has no authority to sue directly for certain violations of the Constitution. An amendment buried deep in the final pages of the bill alters the Voting Rights Act to allow the Attorney General to seek an injunction against “any act prohibited by the 14th or 15th Amendment” of the Constitution. Under current law, the Attorney General is only authorized to bring civil rights claims under specific statutes, typically those prohibiting discrimination. Private plaintiffs can, and do, allege violations of the Constitution, but the Justice Department does not.

5.
Conservative Leaders: Tea Party vs. Establishment Is Part of GOP ‘Civil War’

. The increasingly open “civil war” now raging between a Republican establishment that favors big government and members of the Tea Party is a necessary evil that will eventually force the GOP back to its limited government principles, conservative leaders say. “This is part of a literally 102-year-old civil war that’s been going on in the Republican Party since 1912, when Teddy Roosevelt leaves the Republican Party, splits the party, starts the Bull Moose Party, which leads directly to Woodrow Wilson’s election with less than 42 percent of the vote,” Conservative HQ chairman Richard Viguerie told CNSNews.com.

6.
Obama Ordering Federal Contractors to Provide Pay Info by Race and Gender

. Sidestepping Congress, President Barack Obama is using the federal government’s vast array of contractors to impose rules on wages, pay disparities and hiring on a segment of the private sector that gets taxpayer money and falls under his control.

7.
The dangers of over-federalization in America’s criminal law system

. Criminal law experts warned a House panel late last week about the dangers of over-federalization in the nation’s criminal law system. Today, there are more than 4,500 crimes in federal statutes, according to a study by Louisiana State University law professor John S. Baker. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) noted that many of these statutes cover the same areas as state laws, and that part of the problem with over-federalization is that Congress establishes about 50 new federal crimes every year.

8.
Ron Paul: Wake Up! The Bank Is Empty! Full Interview

. Ron Paul explains how Congress’s $1 billion aid package to Ukraine will impoverish Ukrainian citizens at the expense of American taxpayers.

9.
Joke’s on Us: Charles Rangel Just Cost NY Taxpayers $87K Because He Wouldn’t Pay His Rent

. New York taxpayers just bailed out Rep. Charles Rangel, thanks to a deal in which the state covered at least $87,000 in unpaid rent for his district office: Rangel paid $7,253 in monthly rent on the 125th Street office he has rented since 2000, expense reports from 2012 show. But the payments stopped for all of 2013. Incredibly, instead of demanding payment of the back rent and late fees from its deadbeat legislative tenant, the state cut him a huge rent break. The state comptroller approved a $101,000 lease between Rangel and OGS on Dec. 26, 2013, retroactively covering the period back to April 2013 and future months through December 2014, records show. The 21-month deal resulted in a deeply reduced rent of $4,809 a month.

10.
Obama dismissed by Saudi King Abdullah?

. Obama was scheduled to have what was described as an “intimate” dinner with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia over the weekend, and stay the night in the Kingdom. Howvever the dinner abruptly ended, and Obama left Saudi Arabia after only two hours. The objective of the visit was to mend fences, and get the relationship between America and the Saudi’s back on track, so why the abrupt end? Although the White House denies there was dinner scheduled, apparently scrubbing all references to the soiree; there is some evidence still out there. It is rumored that the Obama administration has even demanded the return of all materials related to the event from the media, like copies of the printed schedule. The White House has even deleted a tweet about the “intimate” dinner.

11.
Insider Corporations Exempt From Obamacare

. Small businesses will soon feel the vice-grip of Obamacare forcing them to pay hefty insurance costs, or cut workers hours. Meanwhile huge corporations are exempt from the “law” thanks to their lobbying power.

12.
Obama Disarms, Cuts Deployed Nuke Force By 50

. The U.S. has announced plans to place 50 nuclear missiles in storage as part of its commitment to the New START Treaty signed with Russia, ignoring Moscow’s violation of another arms treaty.

13.
Free Speech For Me, But Not For Thee

. The recent Supreme Court decision overruling some Federal Election Commission restrictions on political campaign contributions has provoked angry reactions on the left. That is what often happens whenever the high court rules that the First Amendment means what it says — free speech for everybody. When the Supreme Court declared in 2010 that both unions and corporations had a right to buy political ads, that was considered outrageous by the left. President Obama called the decision “devastating” and said it “will open the floodgates for special interests.”

Report: CO2 Is Not a Pollutant, Provides ‘Beneficial Impacts’ to Planet

. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant but a naturally occurring chemical compound that benefits plants and thus, the planet and its inhabitants, according to a lengthy report released Wednesday by the free-market Heartland Institute

Inside the Ring: Hagel releases cyber warfare plans to China

. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced in China this week that he had authorized releasing details of the U.S. cyber warfare doctrine unilaterally to China in a bid to win similar cooperation from Beijing. So far, China has not reciprocated in discussing one of its most secret operations — military cyber warfare programs to attack foreign computer networks for spying and sabotage, U.S. officials said.

100 Facts about the Moral Collapse of America That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe

. The collection of facts and statistics that you are about to read is highly controversial. A lot of people are going to be greatly upset by it. Why? Because they don’t like to be confronted with the truth about America. Most people tend to believe that we can “fix this country” by getting the right politicians into power or by implementing certain economic or social reforms. But the reality of the matter is that our problems go far deeper than that.

17.
Consumer beware: regulators ‘on steroids’

. Financial regulations imposed after the 2008 Wall Street crash are backfiring on consumers and pose a “compliance nightmare” for lenders. “What we have are policymakers on steroids,” U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett charged Tuesday. “They have contempt for the public,” said the New Jersey Republican, who complained that the Federal Reserve Board has yet to provide an unredacted report of events leading up to the financial meltdown six years ago.

18.
The Charts Obama Doesn’t Want You to See

. Talking about Obamacare’s effects is one thing; seeing hard data is another. Heritage’s newly updated Obamacare in Pictures has 15 charts that show the law’s effects on Americans—from canceled insurance policies to new taxes, Medicare cuts, reduced choice for plans, and more. Here’s a quick look at just three of these charts and how Obamacare is hitting three groups.

19.
Facts show IRS targeting limited to Tea Party groups

. House Republicans have released another report that sheds some much-needed sunlight on the early stages of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) targeting conservative groups. The report starts by identifying the first three cases that were tagged for special review in 2010: the Prescott, AZ Tea Party; the Albuquerque, NM Tea Party; and the American Junto in Cincinnati. Of those three, two dropped their applications in the wake of IRS questioning, while the third has yet to have their case resolved.

20.
Medical marijuana could be good for business in Florida

. The medical marijuana industrial-complex is in full swing in Florida. With the question of legalizing medical marijuana apparently heading to voters on the Nov. 4 ballot, entrepreneurs are popping up in an effort to get in on the ground floor of the movement. Eighteen medical marijuana companies have registered with the state this year. Medical Marijuana of Brevard LLC, Medical Marijuana Business Lawyers LLC and Medical Marijuana Centers of Florida Inc., are among the first positioning to take advantage of a boom, should Florida voters approve the referendum by a 60 percent margin.

21.
Five ways to fix the Highway Trust Fund

. Lawmakers are scrambling to find ways to plug a $20 billion hole in the Highway Trust Fund before a projected bankruptcy this fall. The trust fund’s coffers have traditionally been filled by revenue that is collected from the 18.4 cents-per-gallon federal gas tax. But with expenses outpacing receipts by about $20 billion in recent years as cars become more fuel-efficient and people drive less, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicts the fund will run dry well before the Sept. 30 deadline for reauthorizing the gas tax. The fund could go bankrupt as early as August. The CBO says lawmakers will have to find an extra $100 billion to cover federal highway costs over the next six years in addition to the approximately $34 billion per year that is brought in by the gas tax.

22.
Census of Agriculture shows fewer US farms

. A study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service has found that the number of U.S. farms has decreased in the past seven years. According to data from the Census of Agriculture, in 2012 the U.S. had 2.1 million farms, a 4.3 percent drop from the previous census in 2007. Between 2007 and 2012, acreage also diminished from 922 million acres to 915 million.

23.
EPA Concedes: We Can’t Produce All the Data Justifying Clean Air Rules

. Seven months after being subpoenaed by Congress, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy conceded that her agency does not have – and cannot produce – all of the scientific data used for decades to justify numerous rules and regulations under the Clean Air Act.

24.
G20 gives U.S. year-end deadline for IMF reforms

. Finance chiefs from around the globe on Friday gave the United States until year-end to ratify long-delayed reforms to the International Monetary Fund and threatened to move forward without it if it fails to do so. The inability to proceed with giving emerging markets a more powerful voice at the IMF and shoring up the lender’s resources appeared the most contentious issue for officials from the Group of 20 leading economies and the representatives for all IMF member nations who met with them.

25.
Getting Your Neighbor’s Mortgage Off Your Lawn

. Did you know you are probably responsible for your neighbors’ mortgage payments? Heritage expert Norbert Michel explained: Nearly all new residential mortgages are currently being guaranteed by Fannie [Mae] or Freddie [Mac] because these companies buy mortgages from banks and then sell investments backed by the mortgages. And because the Federal government guarantees these investments, taxpayers foot the bill when people default on their mortgages. And what good have Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—and all their taxpayer backing—done? “The U.S. does more to promote homeownership than most countries, but we’ve barely increased ownership, and total costs of owning a home have spiked,” Michel said.

Obama Disarms, Leaving U.S. Exposed To Its Enemies

. Two more weapons systems, including the Navy’s premier attack missile, have been targeted for elimination by the administration years before their usefulness ends or replacements are ready. How ironic that Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Barack Obama used the Tomahawk missile he now seeks to scrap as his weapon of choice when on March 19, 2011, he launched Operation Odyssey Dawn and fired 112 Tomahawks at Libyan targets to enforce a U.N.-backed no fly-zone in support of Libyan rebels fighting Moammar Gadhafi.

2.
Auto Insurance Co. Tracks Drivers by GPS & Charges Per Mile Driven

. A California auto insurance company is rolling out a car tracking device which allows the company to locate policyholders by GPS and charge them insurance rates per mile driven. Developed by San Francisco-based MetroMile, the Metronome device plugs into a vehicle’s OBD-II port and wirelessly sends mileage data to the insurance company, which charges a base rate plus 2 to 5 cents per mile, and can even record the route driven by the policyholder.

3.
Florida cops keep spy technology docs secret

. Disburse, there’s nothing to see here! That seems to be the message from Florida law enforcement agencies when it comes to the controversial practice of using national security technology designed to spy on cell phone users. After getting busted by reporters and the American Civil Liberties Union for using surveillance devices known as Stingrays, answers relating to their use have been hard to come by. A recent ACLU blog post goes as far as to charge public officials in Sunrise, Fla., and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement of violating the state’s open government laws for failing to sufficiently respond to the civil liberties group’s public records requests.

4.
White House looks to regulate cow flatulence as part of climate agenda

. As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.

5.
Obamacare exchange sends couple voter registration form pre-marked as Democrat

. Last October, LU staff reported that Obamacare exchanges offered visitors an option to register to vote. Brian Cook, a spokesman for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was quoted as saying the exchanges were required to include that option under the 1993 National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). But does that law also empower the exchanges to automatically register enrollees and, if so, as Democrats? That’s what happened to a La Mesa, Calif., couple. ABC News 10 reports that the couple, who asked not to be identified, received an envelope from Covered California, the state’s Obamacare exchange. Inside was a registration card pre-marked with an “x” in the box next to Democratic Party.

6.
Why Does New Jersey Have Bridgegate, but There’s No Judgegate in Florida?

. In New Jersey, when there was cause to suspect a breach of ethics in the governor’s office, the state Legislature was on it like a kid on a cupcake. But for some unknown reason, it doesn’t work like that in the Florida Legislature. Less than three days after Gov. Chris Christie was accused of sanctioning a payback plot that saw one of his aides order traffic jams at the on-ramps to the George Washington Bridge, the New Jersey Legislature had convened its Special Committee on Investigations. A week after that, the committee issued 20 subpoenas. Meanwhile, lawmakers in Florida are treating a possible ethics breach by former Gov. Charlie Crist — the selling of judgeships for campaign contributions and/or other special favors — as if it’s none of their business. If they could care less, it doesn’t show.

7.
Republican senator says administration has ‘cooked the books’ on ObamaCare numbers

. A Republican senator said on Sunday that the lack of details about ObamaCare enrollment numbers suggests the Obama administration has “cooked the books.”

8.
The Purple-Suit President

. About forty years ago there was a clothing merchant up on Broadway at Third Street who was doing a pretty fair business with well-heeled local clientele. He had a little trouble with inventory, however, and the problem perplexed him to no end. There seemed to be a bright purple suit hanging on the rack far too long and really was more of a distraction than an asset. So, as he was getting ready to take a vacation, he told his salesmen that there was a $50 bonus for anyone who sold the suit while he was gone. He kept thinking about this offer all the while he was supposed to be enjoying a time away from work. Bosses are like that

9.
Power Play: Political Influence of Florida’s Top Energy Corporations

. Nonpartisan government watchdog group Integrity Florida released a research report titled “Power Play: Political influence of Florida’s top energy corporations” on March 31, 2014. The findings conclude that, increasingly, the Florida Legislature sets its agenda and policy outcomes based on the needs of large political donors rather than the public interest. In one recent example, the sitting state senate president openly explained his position on a public policy issue as supporting whatever one major campaign donor tells him to support. A large Budweiser distributor contributed nearly $300,000 to political candidates and committees aligned with Senate President Don Gaetz and had the edge on its smaller craft beer industry competitors.

10.
How Minimum Wage Increased Unemployment and Reduced Job Creation in 2013

. The variety amongst state minimum wages provides a natural experiment from which to learn. Nineteen states enforced minimum wages above the federal minimum of $7.25 per hour and thirty-one had minimum wages equal to $7.25 in 2013.[1] This paper uses recent data to analyze the impact of raising the minimum wage on employment among the 50 states. As shown in the following charts, the analysis finds that in 2013, a $1 increase in the minimum wage was associated with a 1.48 percentage point increase in the unemployment rate, a 0.18 percentage point decrease in the net job growth rate, a 4.67 percentage point increase in the teenage unemployment rate, and a 4.01 percentage point decrease in the teenage net job growth rate. Consequently, high state minimum wages increased unemployment by 747,700 workers and reduced job growth by 83,300 jobs.

11.
This second grader’s revenge against Common Core math will make your day

. The litany of frighteningly stupid Common Core math worksheets never ends. Perhaps now, though, kids are starting to fight back in satisfyingly creative ways.

12.
Putin Is Militarily Encircling the United States Red Dawn Style

. The year is 1942 and America finds itself cutoff from its allies, yet, America persevered through the harnessing of its vast manufacturing capacity. As America finds itself increasingly isolated by a devastatingly effective Putin foreign policy, the United States does not have the industrial capacity to respond to the economic and military threats which are challenging our very existence. Putin has set up a scenario in which he will harness the collective forces in Latin America, who will one day invade the United States. Latin America has forsaken the United States both economically and militarily.

13.
Selling out the Constitution…selling out America

. After a visit to Amsterdam to attend a G7 meeting to discuss how to punish Vladimir Putin for his ‘supposed’ nationalistic annexing of Crimea, and after attending a two-day Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague, Barack HUSSEIN Obama then visited Brussels (a city whose population is a shocking 40% muslim…guess he felt right at home there) where he cost the city $10.4 million for the additional 350 security people needed to keep him safe. And he brought with him an entourage of 900 people and three cargo planes carrying 45 vehicles…and God only knows how much that cost we taxpayers…all to stand before the EU and NATO summits to say that “Our Constitution is outdated and international law is supreme.”

14.
The Chinese Are Acquiring Large Chunks Of Land In Communities All Over America

. Has the United States ever experienced a time when a foreign nation has attempted to buy up so much of our land all at once? As you will read about in this article, the Chinese are on a real estate buying spree all over America. In fact, in some cases large chunks of land are actually being given to them. Yes, you read that correctly. China is on the way to becoming the dominant land owner in the entire country, and that is starting to alarm a lot of people. Do we really want a foreign superpower to physically own so much of our territory?

15.
Obama administration spending $400,000 on camel sculpture in Pakistan

. The Obama administration wants to spend $400,000 on a camel sculpture for a new embassy building in Pakistan, according to a report Monday. BuzzFeed broke the news that the State Department has plans to commission the camel sculpture from John Baldessari, an American artist. The art is called, “Camel Contemplating Needle.”

16.
Durbin Criticizes Free Enterprise: ‘Created Unfairness and Injustice’

. In a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said free enterprise isn’t always best. Government must step in. “The free enterprise system is a strong system,” he said, but it “created unfairness and injustice when it came to health care, which we are addressing with this Affordable Care Act.”

17.
Cops to Inspect Homes Without Notice For Illegal Rentals

. Authorities in Long Island have launched a crackdown on homeowners who rent their house out to tenants who have not been registered under a “zero tolerance” program that will see police conduct home inspections without notice.

18.
Buried in UN Report: $100 Billion More Needed to Adapt to ‘Global Warming’

. The United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) latest report estimates it will cost developed nations an additional $100 billion each year to help poorer countries adapt to the devastating effects of “unequivocal” global warming, including food shortages, infrastructure breakdown, and civil violence.

19.
Puerto Rico’s statehood would boost federal spending on public aid

. A new report from the Government Accountability Office confirmed what fiscally conservative critics had assumed: If Puerto Rico becomes a U.S. state, federal spending will soar on public aid like Medicaid, Medicare and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Federal spending would likely increase by at least $5 billion.

20.
Export-Import Bank: A Microcosm of Washington’s Cronyism

. The United States Export-Import Bank is essentially a microcosm of some of Washington’s biggest problems, from the corruption it encourages, to putting taxpayers at risk, to the cronyism it facilitates. The alleged purpose of the Bank is to “facilitate exports and imports and the exchange of commodities between the United States and other Nations.” That sounds harmless, perhaps even helpful, until the Bank’s actual operations are exposed. For proof of the Bank existing in part to advance political ideologies, look no further than the Bank’s backing of the failed solar panel company, Solyndra, which was the recipient of an Ex-Im Bank loan guarantee of $10.3 million. American taxpayers shouldn’t be used as pawns in this ongoing game of political correctness and corporate cronyism, while free-market principles are trampled.

21.
Obama Wants to Pay 33% More to U.N. and Other Int’l Groups

. When U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power testifies before a House Appropriations subcommittee on Wednesday, the panel will consider a budget request for international organizations that is 33 percent bigger than last year’s, including a 43 percent hike in U.S. contributions to peacekeeping missions.

22.
A Common Core lesson in simple division

. Let’s focus on a website that was expressly created with an eye toward meeting the Common Core Standards. The site, UClass, is a collection of “vetted resources created by teachers.” Each lesson plan, worksheet and assessment has passed our Common Core inspection with flying colors, making it easier than ever to teach any standard effectively in your classroom. Skimming the wealth of teaching ops on the math page, I couldn’t help but notice that one of the lessons, by a Mrs. Noland, is titled “Where My Tens At?” It’s hard to know whether the use of “ebonics” is also permitted in the teaching of language arts, but we’re drifting away from the main point. Our lesson for today is “Real World Division” by Maureen Devlin. The task in the UClass video that follows is to divide 52 by 4. Now you probably think the best way to solve this is to divide the first number in the dividend (that’s 52) by the divisor (4) and write the result (1) in the tens place of the quotient. You’d be wrong. Here’s the Common Core way:

23.
By Surrendering Control Of Internet, Obama Surrenders Our Freedoms

. Kowtowing to global pressure, President Obama has unilaterally decided America should give up its oversight of the Internet’s most vital infrastructure. Specifically, Obama’s Commerce Department is making plans to surrender protection of the Internet’s domain name system (DNS) and the vital Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) to some unknown international bureaucrats — a dangerous abdication of authority that could take place as early as next fall. These functions are the lifeblood to the free flow of information online — linking easy-to-remember domain names to numerical Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. This is why the federal government has so zealously safeguarded its independence.

24.
EPA Blasted for Dangerous Human Experiments to Advance Agenda – B.M.G.

. The Environmental Protection Agency is under attack from all sides yet again, this time for conducting dangerous and potentially even deadly experiments on unwitting human test subjects in what analysts say was a transparent bid to advance the Obama administration’s radical agenda by executive decree. The explosive findings, unveiled in a recently released internal EPA report, show that the increasingly out-of-control agency exposed vulnerable people to wildly high levels of possibly fatal pollutants without even warning them of the risks. The purpose: justifying more regulations.

25.
Massive 2012 Voter Fraud: 35,750 with same name & DOB voted in 2 states

. More evidence that Obama and the Dems stole the 2012 elections. More evidence that the United State of America has devolved into a Third World and third rate country. The North Carolina State Board of Elections has found thousands of instances of voter fraud in the state, thanks to a 28-state crosscheck of voter rolls. Initial findings suggest widespread election fraud.
